As many times as I've seen the cans vs. bottles threads on these forums, I haven't seen anyone who has taken a particular beer, packaged in both, and done a side-by-side comparison. If I'm wrong about this, I'm sure someone [or everyone] will straighten me out. Meanwhile, I'm going to check my list and see which beers I've had in both cans and bottles, re-purchase them and answer my own question.

Nothing like post first, check later. The only beer I've had in cans & bottles is from Sierra Nevada. Are there any other breweries that can & bottle?

I know its not craft, but Blue Moon Belgian White in a 16oz can tasted different from the bottled one and not as good.

You can try the experiment with Brooklyn beers.

Cisco has "Whale Tale Pale Ale," "Sankaty Light," and now "Grey Lady" in both cans and bottles, but I believe the bottled batches are brewed at Mercury Brewing in Ipswich, MA, and the canned batches are brewed at F.X. Matt in Utica, NY.

Don't forget to compare can/bottle dates.

Just noticed Uinta will be canning some beers; not sure if they will do both bottles & cans, though.

It's not the same thing, but beer tastes considerably better once it's poured.

NB has ranger in both, fat tire in both. Nothing like slamming a 12 pk of ranger cans.

Well, I've done it some time ago with BrewDog Punk IPA and the can won hands down.

Been there, done that. Before you joined. Around here (SEPA), Yuengling is easy to find in both. Cans and bottles were filled within a day or so of each other. Blind tasting. Six people. Three samples of each. Nobody could reliably identify which came from bottles and which came from cans, including the three guys who swore up and down (before the blind tasting) that cans give a metallic flavor to the beer.
