My only time drinking Black Note Stout it sold out in like 40 minutes. I got there and as soon as I walked in I saw the horror of a keg going dry. So there's this beer sitting there that's 90% full and I say what's up with that beer sitting there and the bartender shrugges his shoulders (he didn't pour it). I tell him I want it and gladly pay full price for a 90% pour. Forced to drink Three Floyds the rest of the night.

They were allowing people to get multiple growlers after the initial wave subsided. Lots of peop,e I saw get in line more than once and people who came alone walked out with 2-3 growlersif the ORC

Hah! So glad to see I am not alone on this one. Never thought of it in the "hiding" context, just people carrying beers around, changing their minds, a leaving things where ever they happen to be. Or just piss-poor shelf management. Now that you mention it, it is obvious some were secret stashes.

I don't see how the OP can be guilty of anything in this case. Growler fill offered, growler fill paid for. What if the keg kicked halfway through the fill? Would we then be prosecuting the establishment (agree it is a bit iffy to have growler fills from a single keg, though).

For those suggesting they shouldn't allow growler fills, isn't the whole point of Cigar City's "Growler Tuesday" to give growler fills of cool one-off beers?

Funny how there isn't the same etiquette when it comes to food. If you had the last piece of prime rib at a restaurant, would you think twice about it?

I think the standard Pete Weber crotch chop + "Who do you think you are? I am!" is appropriate.

Don't feel bad if anyone is at fault it's the person who decided serving growlers of single keg limited releases was a good idea.

So you were the SOB in front of me...

Just kidding. Wanted to go but was working all day. If that "2 hours" away place is Orlando, holler at your boy .

i was surprised to read this.

i thought this was going to be about not paying for kicking the kegs. i have never had to pay for the last pull on a keg, even when it is 95% of a full pint. literally been less than an oz short of a full pint and gotten it for free. the tip usually goes way up after that happens.

is it not the same for growler fills? none of the beers i have kicked have been single keg things, but some of them have been semi-limited

They didn't charge us for that growler (3/4 full). But we bought some other items too.

Consider yourself lucky that it lasted until 3, most growler Tuesday beers kick in under an hour. When they used to start pouring at 11 they would sometimes kick before 11:30. BA Jose Marti only lasted 42 minutes, and that was with a 1 growler limit.
