Another Germany Ba meet-up?

    I sadly had to bow out of the last meeting at Faust. How about another edition? Perhaps a Cologne/Düsseldorf day?

    I am no longer in Germany so sadly I can't go, but Düsseldorf is one of the great drinking cities in Germany and I would have voted for that. The last BA meet-up was a lot of fun and I hope you all can do it again.

    I'm in Bamberg from the 26th until the 30th of December. Also in Berlin from the 20th-26th. Probably can't make it across to Koeln or Duesseldorf with all the family obligations.

    When would be a good time? date?
    I think a run through a few places in Köln such as Mühlen, pfaffen, päffgen and then ending at Braustelle, which would possibly allow for sharing some bottles, could be fun.

    For sharing bottles, Braustelle would probably be the best location... Otherwise Düsseldorf is better for the beers :sunglasses:
    But first we have to fix a date and find out who will join!

    Hah, beer wise you might get some pushback from the natives of Cologne... but I do not care either way. However, it would be pretty easy to do a brunch/lunch time visit of a couple of places in Düsseldorf, then move on to Cologne, visit a couple places and end with dinner at Braustelle and share bottles if so desired.

    So date suggestions?

    ThirstyBird mentioned that sharing Bottles @ Braustelle sometimes isn't as easy and self-evident as it used to be, depending on who is working there. We have to check this first after finding a day!
    And visiting places in both towns (probably a few of the "nor so common ones" like Gulasch Alt in D or http://www.boellbier.de in K might also be interesting. I might guess that most of us know the "standard"-placed very well :sunglasses:) is a great idea!

    --> To the date:
    For me prior Christmas is bad - but what about the Saturdays January 17th or February 7th or 14th.

    February 7th looks pretty good.
    Once we decide on a date Ill talk to Sebastian about a bottle share at Braustelle.

    FWIW, Jan. 17th looks good for me, Feb. 7th I can probably do some stuff in Düsseldorf but not Cologne and on Feb 14th I'll likely be out of town. And like Gabriel and Don said...certainly check with Sebastian before planning on opening bottles at Braustelle.

    I'll see if I can find sometime special to do or drink in Düsseldorf.

    If you are thinking of Düsseldorf in January, the 20th is Sticke Day at Uerige (always the 3rd Tuesday in January and October)...

    I always love Bamberg, I was just thinking Cologne/Düsseldorf for another area this time. There also seem to be quite a few people in this area, and maybe we can even convince some of our neighbors to the east to vist:slight_smile:

    We might even be able to convince some people from the crazy lands to the west of Germany, Im looking at you Belgium, Netherlands...

    Any chance for a meet up near Stuttgart. It'd be great to meet up with a few of you but driving up to Dusseldorf is quite the undertaking from here.

    BTW the wine shop over here in Stuttgart mentioned earlier does have Cantillon. Only Kriek Lambic 100% Bio and Geuze. They have some other beers from France such as Loirette (not a bad one if imust say)

    just over 2hrs by train from Stuttgart to Köln :slight_smile:

    Instead of suggesting a 100 different places lets keep this one to Köln/Düsseldorf, the exact details we can hammer out once we have a date.
