Another Germany Ba meet-up?

    I say we shoot for mid January, the 17th has been suggested, and maybe in April a spring visit to Bamberg?

    So far it looks like the interested parties are:

    Im sure Roman/Koelschtrinker would join us as well if he is free. So seems we are starting to amass a decent group.
    So thoughts on January 17th or Feb 7th? I think I would actually prefer Feb 7th.

    wouldn't be the first time I have been accused of imposing my nefarious machinations.

    Put us down was doubtful at this time - we have a week in London at the beginning of the new year and I'll need time to replenish my travel fund coffer. But things could change.

    Right now my vote would be for Jan. 17th as the Bruge beer festival is Feb 7th weekend. I want to try to get to it but have no set plans yet.

    Thanks for putting this together! I'll likely be out of the country in February because of work, but January is a slight, slight possibility (it depends on how charitably my wife is feeling, and considering I'll be leaving her alone with two kids for most of February, I'm guessing she won't be terribly enthused by my taking a weekend to go drink beer in Köln). But you never know...

    So a couple of you answered the poll and a few of you sent me messages; it looks like Jan 17th is the best day.

    So here is my idea:
    Saturday January 17th
    - 10ish (i know not German of me, but I live in France before and studied there).
    meet for coffee somewhere, recommendations? Rost Zeit?
    - Head to a couple bars/breweries I am all for suggestions here. Zum Uerige and/or Uerige in Carsch-Haus, Schumacher, other places?
    - Lunch around 13:00, maybe here http://sattgruen.de
    - train to Köln
    - visit a couple of places in Köln, some of the usuals? or different things? Lommerzheim, Mühlen etc...
    - end at Braustelle 18:00ish and possibly share some bottles (ill talk to Sebastian about this)

    Sound good?

    Sounds very good, thank you for the effort to put this together.

    As for the mentioned Carsch-Haus, it should be closed for good, come the new year.

    I'm mostly a forum lurker on here, but will be travelling from my D-Freiburg base to Belgium around that time, staying up until the Brugs Bierfestival, and might be able to hop off in Köln with some cellar treasures. Is Jan 17 set at Braustelle?
