    I cringe when someone suggests more than 3 breweries a day and you want to hit 2 cities which are over 400 km apart on the same day ?!? Americans... :slight_smile:

    umm Düsseldorf to Cologne is 30mins by train.

    Uhhh, people who fail at reading comprehension.

    My original idea was Cologne, some wanted Düsseldorf. I cannot imagine a beer at 2 places in Düsseldorf, thats .4l and then lunch and a 30min train ride, then the same in Cologne is excessive. Followed by hanging out and sharing some beers. Should be a relaxing day with some coffee and food thrown in.

    cheers:slight_smile:

    Don,

    I think you put together a fine trip itinerary but then again I am American.:wink:

    Cheers!

    Apparently so... *grumbles* For some reason what I read was Bamberg and Köln which seemed absurd to me. That's what I get for posting sober... *grumbles*

    Im still waiting for the apology... though perhaps that's a classic German apology, semi admitting you were wrong is shame enough. Germans! :wink:

    I honestly do not see where an apology would be warranted, except maybe that I thought it possible at all that Americans would do something as absurd as I suggested in my initial post. Alas, having witnessed things of equal magnitude and worse, I cannot apologize in good conscience :slight_smile:

    And, my Rhode Island born wife agrees :grinning:

    OK bottle share at Braustelle on the night of the 17th at Braustelle is not a problem.

    I know we are all joking here, but your logic is severely flawed.

    Hi all, I follow the Germany board fairly regularly as I travel several times a year to you for work- this sounds like a great time. I will have to keep an eye on what you have planned for the future, this location would be a fairly quick train ride for me and the opportunity to see new places/meet new beer folks/share some beers from the States!

    Cheers to all for happy holidays and a good start to your 2015! Enjoy your meetup!

    So roll call:
    @aleigator
    @bartlebierle
    @Erzengel
    @ThirstyBird
    @adkieffer
    I know maybe 2 others who will join

    maybes/doubtfuls?
    @-N8
    @boddhitree
    @JHDStein
    @rodzm14

    Anyone else?

    Here is the rough plan:
    Saturday January 17th
    - 10ish (i know not German of me, but I lived in France before and studied there).
    meet for coffee somewhere, recommendations? Rost Zeit?
    - Head to a couple bars/breweries I am all for suggestions here. Zum Uerige and/or Uerige in Carsch-Haus(closed now?) + Schumacher.
    - Lunch around 13:00, maybe here http://sattgruen.de
    - train to Köln
    - visit a couple of places in Köln, some of the usuals? or different things? Lommerzheim, Mühlen etc...
    - end at Braustelle 18:00ish for bottle share. Each person brings one large format (660ml+) or equivalent bottle to share. I have confirmed this with Sebastian

    So just need to decide on some locations, I do not know Düsseldorf so well, so I will defer to you all.

    Cheers

    Just one note from someone who will not be in attendance - Uerige im Carschhaus is very small, and in all seriousness may be a little too small even for a group of seven.

    Cheers gang, sounds like a good time, wish I were still there!

    Ahhh ive seen 10 people packed in there:slight_smile:, but I think it is closed now:slight_frown:
    The prevailing logic seems to be to make stops at Uerige and Schumacher, then lunch and on to Cologne:slight_smile:

    Sounds like a good time, but unfortunately, I can't make it. And as much as I would like to blame it on the wife, this time it's work commitments. Have a great time!
