I know we've been over this before, but bear with me. I have a good friend who loves Landshark. She thinks it's the best beer out there. And that's fine. But she wants to find other beers to enjoy. I tried flower power and Troegs Perpetual but too bitter for her. Didn't like sweet baby Jesus. ("too dark". I don't know what that means). I haven't personally tried many of the session IPAs but I'm thinking there might be one that's mild in flavor enough for a Landshark fan to enjoy?

Don't make the jump to craft beer too big. Start with a good Pils or Helles.

All the females I know like wheat’s. GI 312, New Belgium Snapshot, hefe’s, etc. Start there and see how she responds. Belgians also seem to be appreciated..Chimay is a good starter. Good luck!

Waterboard her with Prima Pils. It worked when I did it to my brother. :grinning:

Sessional IPAS are the best way to pull her into the beer arena with their up front strong hop resin and citrus ending. Day Time, if grapefruit and lemon are your preference. Sessionals have a low abv like Landshark and it will make a smooth transition. She won't think their very strong.

    Don't do what I did.

I told my friend to get a random mix-a-six.

He said it was all trash, drain poured some awesome beers (Two Hearted, Edmund Fitzgerald, etc.), and he will drink absolutely nothing that isn't Bud Light as far as beer is concerned. It's disappointing that none of my friends drink craft beer, but at least my sister does.

Since you are in PA, I suggest Stoudts Pils or Gold. Well made and not too challenging.

Why the fixation on finding an IPA "for a Landshark fan?" She doesn't like them and it's a strange leap. Skip the porters/stouts and Prima Pils too. Go with another kolsch or lager - it's what she likes. The Stoudts suggestion is great.

Just a quick suggestion: I just bought a sixer of New Belgium's Summer Helles and found it to be supremely drinkable. It's very mildly flavored, and just really easy to knock back a few.
It may not be the best example of a Helles, much to the chagrin of your typical craft nerd, but it succeeds in being a light and refreshing warm weather brew.

Haha, can’t tell if trolling. Let me rephrase then...every female that I’ve helped get into craft beer disliked “hoppy” and disliked “dark beers.” Wheats and belgians seemed to fit their requested flavor profiles better. Not sure how personal experience is sexist so my apologies.

Wait, how is that sexism? The person merely indicated that the females he knows prefer wheat beers. Looking for things to be pissy about?

Bring her to a brewery and give her something hopped with citra fresh from the source. I don't know what to tell you where you live but trillium fort port pale ale would work if you lived near boston

Boat Beer, if available in your area, would be a great segue...

Last person that I introduced craft to I invited him over a poured him an Undercover Investigation, he made his wife take pictures on her phone and it was allover from there. But for OP witte's and heffe's are a great jumping point or a helles lager. I believe Cigar city distros to Penn and their Hotter than Helles is solid.

Maybe all the females he knows DO like (or tend to like) wheats. All the women that have been prominent in my life couldn't/can't cook steak. That's not sexism; it's one person's personal experience. Damn, calm down.
