I've read through threads and see the recos for church key and such. However, I've only mostly seen whole foods as a recommendation for bottle shops, is that really the best around downtown?

I'll be there the 23-27 of March staying downtown and looking for a couple places to pick up some stuff I can't get at home.

    Thanks!

Whole Foods P St. is now average since Randy left (and is now at Calvert Woodley. Go to Calvert Woodley (it's literally on the same block as the Van Ness Metro Stop) - it's the best bottle shop in the DC Metro area. Every other week or so I go there and Randy always has new stuff to try out.

Just got back from DC. Visited Whole Foods P St, Calvert Woodley, and Cairo for bottle shops. Spent most time in the Whole Foods location, good selection but check can/bottle dates for some of the IPAs. Was only in Calvert for a short time on last day, right off the Van Ness metro stop, also good selection, Randy wasn't available to talk to, picked up a sixer of Manor Hill IPA for home. Disappointed in the Cairo store, small and selection not as appealing as other 2, mainly went there hoping they still had some Trillium bottles that other posters mentioned, but was already gone.
