We've seen these before. Last beer before you die, you can drink only one beer for the rest of your life, etc. This one is a little different, and I think it may cause some people to pause before voting/responding.

    Would you rather:
    1. Be able to drink beers from as many different breweries as you want, but you can drink only one of each beer (i.e., no repeats)—I'm calling this pure ticking.
    2. Be able to drink as many of whatever beers you want, but all beers must come from only one brewery—your choice which one, and it doesn't have to be local to you or even distributed where you live. So you are basically committing to a single brewery's lineup for life.

Number #2 is an easy choice for me. Founder's makes all I need.

Variety is the spice of life. Call me a ticker if you need to label it but option one, hands down.

For #1 do I get a free shipping service to send me a one-time-only beer from anywhere in the world? Sign me up.

God that's a tough one. But I'd rather drink an endless amount of beers I love than worry I missed out on "the perfect beer".

    Number 2 - Hill Farmstead

In this hypothetical world (choice 1) you have a local store that carries a single bottle/can/draft pour of every unique beer made everywhere in the world, and somehow all of it is also magically always fresh.

In the other hypothetical world (choice 2) you have instant access to all the beer that any single brewery of your choice produces.

I went with number 2 - 'cuz I'm no ticker, and if I love a beer - I'm gonna want another, as opposed to having to work through tons of beers until I find another beer I can only have one of...

And as for the brewery, Founders was actually the brewery that came to mind - they seem to have one of the best selections (for my tastes) - hitting BBA stuff like KBS, high quality stouts, D/IPAs, old ale, Scotch ale, and if their Backstage Series is part of the package? :sunglasses: Not for nothing, Bell's seems to have everything I crave, too - BBA stout, great IPAs and DIPAs, an epic old ale/barleywine...

Definitely #1 but I'd probably start to cry if I were made to choose between FBS and Backwoods Bastard.

    Hmmm.

The only brewery I would pick #2 would be Victory, Firestone, and Allagash I think.

    that being said, I pick #2

I was torn, but leaning towards #2(really, only one Field 41 forever? Only 1 Cowiche Fresh Hop? I shudder at the thought.). Then I remembered something I've said countless times on this site, usually about a hyped walezbro beer. Somewhere there is another brewery making a beer equal to, and possibly exceeding that hype bomb. So, yup, I'ma voting #1.

Apologies if I'm overthinking this, but if you go with #2, you better hope it's a brewery that's constantly experimenting and creating new beers. Even if it's the best of the best, it will feel like a prison very quickly. You also better hope your brewery never goes out of business since that means your beer-drinking days are done.

I went with number 2 because as of right now if I only had one beer to drink it would be Nightshift's Whirlpool hands down no questions asked. And for this summer I plan on making a lot of trips to Nightshift.

Evil Twin is a good call - so many original beers and pretty much every style is covered.
