The make mention that they will be the only good beer at Rainbow? I can buy Surly at the Rainbow in SLP. What will happen to them if I can buy beer on Sundays next year?

Just amazing the pure # still jumping in the fray....I'm all for it...the strong will survive and the competition will only make the others better....for every Staples Mill you'll get three Liftbridges hopefully!

I love low abv beers but i hope they don't constrain they brewing just to keep the beer 3.2.

I think bang brewing and hammerheart two breweries that should be on sale by the end of the yesr

Checked out the websites...Urban Growler kind of confused me. Thought they only would only sell beer in growlers, like Dangerous Man. Sounds like they have done some good planning and St Paul needs some tap rooms

U4IC Brewing is another new one; dont know if that has been mentioned. It is in the Belle Plaine area.

I don't want to question the business savy of two successful business men but there are tons of bad ideas coming out of the u4ic
camp. A brewery in blakely is going to be tough to pull off, but a brewery in sacred heart is certifiably insane.

No, Fair State isnt going to focus soley on 3.2% alchohol by weight beer.
I believe Hammerheart will be open very soon, probabaly by the end of the month would be my guess judging by their Facebook posts. Bang has zero media presence, not even a real website, so who knows when they will open.

More background here, and a bit more here (second link includes details on Burning Brothers and Urban Growler).

I smell beer-brewing mingled with coffee roasting nearby, so Bang is close to their original target date. :sunglasses:

Just was going to ask if it was 3.2 by weight, as that is about 4% by volume.

Folks forget with all these trendy brewers putting out 'session beers' these days that MN grocery stores and gas stations have carried a vast selection of said session beers for years!

Speaking of, does Summit still put out 3.2 EPA?

Summit EPA (with the 'black crowns') used to be a great session beer at the local 3.2 bar!

Or those absurdly large cups of EPA at Saints games. I had to use two hands to drinks the first half haha.

Brau Brothers made it work in an even more "isolated" location.

The market was far less competitive when brau brothers hit the market, the overall infrastructure might more receptive to local startups now, but they will be sharing the shelf with boatloads of other local brews most of whom have much more exposure and income generated by their higher traffic taprooms. If they brew fantastic beer their location won't hurt them (olvalde & dave's BrewFarm) but they are just above average i see them having trouble. I just think a brewpub may give people a little more to make the drive for, but until we see what tey are capable of it's all just speculation

You are the one to call them insane. I reserve judgement until I try the beer. And I forgot about Olvalde which is even more applicable.

What's the brewery that was supposedly opening in downtown White Bear? Anyone know if that is still on-track?
