Another Tampa Thread...

    Sorry gang, I swear I looked through the Tampa threads for help, but they are a bit dated or not specific to what I am looking for. Basically, I have a friend that is heading to Tampa for the New Year that is going to hook me up with some beer. I did my due diligence, but I was hoping someone had some suggestions of any beer stores where I could potentially still find some Jai Alai - White Oak or Marshal Zhukov, potentially even a good spot that has some rarer Terrapin (I'm talking just plain Wake n' Bake, not even the Cinnamon Roll version) or Bruery offerings?

    Thanks for the responses in advance everybody! And if you would rather tell me in a private convo, I'm down. Maybe we could even set up a trade for some Iowa locals if interested! Take care!

    You aren't going to find white oak jai alai or Zhukov on shelves. Those flew off shelves.

    I bought 4 bottles of Zhukov just this past weekend. They were just sitting on the shelves.

    As to the OP, the ABC near me (Gandy Blvd.) had Wake and Bake recently and usually has a decent selection of Bruery bottles. Both the Total Wine and Whole Foods that are right near CCB have great selections and you can sometimes find the more limited CCB release there long after they are gone elsewhere.

    The CCB tasting room still had bottles of Southern Slice (collaboration with Terrapin) this past weekend.

    Also, if your friend is here for new Years, it might be worth it to go by the Cigar City Brewpub since they are releasing Leon's Grandson's in cans for NYE.

    Oh wow! Thanks Bartos! That is much appreciated! I forgot to ask before, what liquor stores around have a good selection of build your own six packs / singles?

    Probably the total wine near the brewery or the ABC stores in town are your best bet for mixed 6 packs. And if you are interested in doing an IP trade send me a message. As I mentioned, I picked up 4 bottles of Zhukov this past weekend plus I have some other CCB bottles in the "cellar"

    Just saw Zhukov on the shelves of the Tampa Total Wine yesterday. Lots of Jai Alai around, Humidor IPA and those Terrapins should still be around. Also check out CCB tasting room page to see what's in the cooler.

    Where in "Tampa"? I'm across the Bay near the beaches. I've got some leftover Humidor Series IPA (from what I've heard, it's Jai Alai aged on cedar instead of white oak), bottling date of 11/6 (if I recall correctly... I'm at work, so can't verify for sure). I'm not feeling the flavor, but some people LOVE it. I much prefer the regular Jai Alai. Let me know if you want to take that off my hands.

    My buddy is staying near Westshore, so not near the beaches. I do not know how he would feel about meeting up with someone for beer, lol. I will ask him though and see if he would be willing to do that.

    Yeah, that would be a bit of a drive for an $8 4-pack. Just a thought, if he was closer. Happy New Year and best of luck in your search!

    Found chocolate milk moohoo and wnb today at ABC. Pretty easy to get any Terrapin you want in Tampa. Dos Coco or whatever has been around forever too.

    Also... picked up some BCBS but that was for me to buy not you :slight_smile:.

    Wish I saw that Zhukov others are talking about but I haven't noticed it. Big Guava and Southern Slice at CCB tasting room. Plenty of Humidor IPA on shelves... If in Tampa area stop by Rapp and grab a growler of the Gose or chocolate peanut butter stout and leave with a smile. Plenty of moo-hoo and w-n-b around...
