Yea, avoid the Chicago Skyway. You're looking at $4.50 for 2 axles. It's privatized, hence the crazy high tolls. For most others, you're looking at $1 - $3 max, cash prices. You'll want plenty of loose change on hand without an I-PASS.

I wouldn't avoid the Skyway. You're saving time by going that way...$4.50 is not that much, especially when you consider what nuts like us pay for beer. I use an I-PASS, but think you can use credit card as well, so may not need the loose change.

    I'll Third this one

We were in the general Vicinity of Frankfort (Copemish, NOTHING is there) last 4th of July. I think we ended up going to Storm Cloud twice. Really great beer. Great atmosphere. Get some popcorn, flavored, huge bowls of it. Perfect little beach town though. Has the normal mix of shops and stores, good restaurants and main street literally goes right to the beach (unlike Grand Haven for example, where downtown is a little hike to the beach). My wive had said how it would be the perfect little ton to have a vacation house in.

I tried setting up a trip in two weeks there and couldn't find anywhere to stay. So we are doing Saugatuk instead...

And since you seem to know...non-beer: If we wanted to stop and say atleast get some frozen pizza to take home, is Malinati's what you suggest? We've had Giradono's also (which was great) but thought Malinati's was higher thought of.

I haven't tried the frozen pies, but for dining-in, I've always liked Malnati's better than Giordano's, though both are really good. Good grief do I miss being able to get decent pizza. It's like a pizza wasteland around here.

Yes, I would suggest Lou Malnati's over Giordano's. For my money, Lou's (Lou Malnati's) is better. Giordano's has a different type of crust, doughier I guess. Giordano's is good, but not my favorite.

Lou's frozen pizzas are very good. If you can get some dry ice, they'll keep very well on the drive back to TN. If the weather's not too hot, they should be fine in a cooler with plenty of regular ice packed around. Just do what you can to prevent water getting in.

If travelling along Lake Superior, White's Party Store or Econo Foods in Marquette. If you are following lake the Lake Michigan route, which I'm assuming you are, Be sure to stop at Sav-Mor in Escanaba (My hometown favorite). It's just a quick hop off the highway and they have a great selection of MI beers.

We are def. stopping in Marquette. We had a sit down and looked at our map this weekend. Still trying to decide if we want to check out door county or Madison (knowing we will have maybe a day to check either out) All I can say is I'll need a vacation from my vacation.

The wife and I visited Tribute last week. Great atmosphere. They had 7 of their own beers on tap, along with 5 other Wisconsin brews. If you like blueberries, Blueberry Train is a great summer wheat ale. Their Brefoot Charlie IPA is very good as well.

I picked up a few different Blackrocks sixers in Watersmeet, MI, at Nordine's Foodland. Good stuff. It was tough to find much that far south in the UP, however.

Hopefully I can find some. Suggestions in the UP where to look other than the Foodland? Or in Michigan in general?

The wife found some in a gas station convenience store near Houghton, it should be all over. It is on draft in many places.
