Another word(s) for beer???

    Besides calling beer "beer", what else do you call beer? Mine is "Golden Soda". Heard it when I started drinking beer. Has stuck with me ever since.

    I've always liked the phrase "liquid bread," but I just call it beer.

    I'm assuming you're not asking for standard slang that may include swill, brew, brewski, suds, cold one, froth, golden/black milk (black for stout, of course), liquid nutrition...

    A few more: sedative, anesthetic, bar kiss, bag (a pitcher), soup, lemonade (usually for BMC), fuzzy tea, adult beverage (more generic for all alcohol), copper/black (amber ale/porter), pint, cerveza, barley cheese, a date with barleycorn, a date with barley queen...

    Oil, motor oil, engine oil...

    I was always told that a beer is comparable to a pork chop when it comes to calories. For a while I was calling them pork chops.

    Sauce, Souse, Brine, Pickle, Pickle juice--all actually mean the same thing

    Irish tea, Irish soda (Irish sherry is usually reserved for Irish Wiskey)

    Sounds waaay too much like something R. Kelly would make some 16 y/o drink..

    All I have to contribute, is that every once in a while I will just refer to the style or particular beer I would prefer to drink at that time. "lets go grab an ipa." "I need a Kilt Lifter.."
