I just got a new job working in the Compuware Building downtown...any BA's work in the area and ever go out for beers after work? I know Foran's Grand Trunk is right there, and Slows isn't far.

There's a group of guys working for Quicken who started a homebrew club. They typically meet at DBC. Look up George Hotelling if you are interested. Tell him Jon sent you.

I work at Quicken and we do have a monthly homebrew club meeting. It's usually at DBC, let me know if you want me to add you to the Google Group. Hit me up at work on Monday too (Steve H). Cheers!

im in midtown and usually have to get out of the city to get a good beer. dt wise slows and sometimes toms oyster bar are places that can have good stuff on tap. rattlesnake club just had a beer pairing event, never went there though, place seems legit. bucharest has some good stuff before... thats all i can think of right now; but youre pretty close to this place: http://oneeyedbettys.com/beer.html

As for places to hit downtown, your best bets are Park Bar, Slows, Forans Grand Trunk and Red Smoke. All have a solid selection of brews. I've never been to the Rattlesnake or Toms Downtown personally.

Sen me your resume and I'll hook it up!

My names Joe. I bartend at Roast just around the corner. Always have 5 solid taps on and an extensive bottle list.

Wow, I totally spaced out. Roast is an awesome place to hang out for beer, and killer for happy hour.

I love going to Roast for happy hour (wish I could go more). For a while they had Dirty Bastard as their special - last time I went in it was All Day IPA. I don't think I've ever spoken to Joe (hey) -- but I always talk to Travis. I'm sure he's a BA but I don't know his username.

Roast is my favorite restaurant in the city, by far. Always great taps and bottles. I was able to try Kuhnhenn Raspberry Eisbock there a couple years back. Great happy hour, too.
