I have rosacea (red flushing of the face) and have had it for some time. It gets worse with age and I am on some treatments for it but the main triggers are just about anything "good" in life: sun, exercise, many great foods (cheese), alcohol (especially beer!), coffee, chocolate...!
I'm also a craft beer enthusiast and just getting back into homebrewing after a 5 year hiatus.
I also play in a gigging band and drinking a few pints of Guinness while playing is one of my favorite past times...
I'm going to start drinking a ton of water while imbibing beer and I have to absolutely cut out the "couple beers a week" that I've been having because it causes me to flush / breakout until I get to my second pint and it's also many, many needless carbs/calories during the week.
Rosacea sucks! Just wondering if anyone else deals with this and how you cope while being an intense lover of all things beer?

I do have rosacea, but luckily for my love of beer it is mainly red wine that really triggers it for me alcohol wise. My recommendation to you is to move somewhere warmer and more humid so your skin won't be so irritated. Come to Florida and enjoy some CCB.

Lucky... I never touch red wine so I'm good there but in general anything with alcohol kicks it in but oddly it seems to settle after my second drink. I'm going to get back into doing the 1:1 pint/H2O configuration, that was working well for a while.
I'm taking the family to Disney after Thanksgiving so I'll have a week to enjoy the warmth for a while

Not to get all science-minded (or to take a weird turn from craft beer,) but check your deodorant you use as well. If the main ingredient is "Alcohol Denat" (denatured alcohol), I'd recommend switching to something with "Dipropylene Glycol" (both are commonly used, so it's not hard to make the switch.) Alcohol on alcohol can also be a trigger.

My view on it is that it's a superficial ailment and should not interfere in life's pleasures. I just slap some ointment on it daily and forget about it.
