OP, I see that you're in Indiana, so if it's northern Indiana then you can easily hop across the MI border to get Short's latest variety pack. It has 3 bottles of Gingersnap, which is a Brown Ale instead of a stout, but it's pretty good if you like gingersnap cookies. http://beeradvocate.com/beer/profile/9629/88894

Short's also makes Ginger in the Rye as a seasonal, and it's pretty good too. Seems like it was early to mid-summer when that one was out.

A newish, small brewery here in Houston does a gingerbread stout. I ordered a snifter of it on Saturday, and while delicious at first, halfway through the snifter I could barely drink it. Too sweet and I was getting a sort of cardboard-like aftertaste. Oh, and it's also priced stupidly at $15/bomber.

Merry Mischief was good enough for me to not want any other.

seems like all anybody is offering are regional brewers. Anyone know of any of these being sold in PA, either in brewpub or bottled?

I think they've changed the name this year to "Merry Maker" for whatever reason.

I want to say I agree that it was an official name change. So that all the soccer moms won't get mad in Utah about "Mischief"?

Edit: no offense to soccer, moms, or Utah.

    .

That makes me sad since I've been holding onto two bottles for the holidays. Oh well, I will still approach it with an open mind.

i guess i should of specified beers that are nationwide and not local.since people seem to keep saying hardywoods(or at least im assuming thats a local beer, ive only seen the samuel adams gingerbread stout and not the hardywoods)

Hardywood's really is something special. I received a bottle as a tip for a tattoo that I did during a guest spot in Richmond & I've been holding onto it for this Christmas. I had it on draft at Hardywood a few weeks ago & it is amazing. They just released this year's batch this past weekend & apparently all of the bottles are gone already. I'd highly recommend finding someone to trade with.

It's actually supposed to be a S'mores stout, brewed with graham crackers. Close, I guess, but not quite.
