Any good beer distributors in Orlando?

    Specifically within 5 miles of Universal? Bonus points to those who can give me examples of excellent beers I can find at said distributors that are very difficult to find in the Northeast, if anyone has experience shopping around between the two regions, of course.

    First off, big ups on the screen name. Also a big Patton fan. Second, the term "beer distributor" means something totally different in FL than it does in NY or PA. Beer is sold everywhere here (grocery stores, liqour stores, gas stations, you name it...) You just want a good bottle shop. Only thing worthwhile within 5 miles of Universal are Whole Foods Turkey Lake, Total Wine at Millenia, and the ABC on Apopka-Vineland. That being said, I have no idea what you don't get in NY that we do here in FL that is worthwhile grabbing at this point in the year. So, fuck the bonus points. Good luck!

    Well, big ups to you as well, because I've used this screen name on every website, xbox, ps3, etc. for over 7 years and no one has ever said anything. I totally forgot NY type beer distributors are not common in every (most) states. Anyways, I was leaning towards checking out the Whole Foods as it was, so I think I'm 100% on that now, esp. due to its proximity to Universal. I'm really just hoping to find some lesser distributed Cigar City brews and I think I heard Florida gets Jester King sometimes, so I'm hoping to find some of that as well. Basically, I don't want to spend a few days just drinking adjunct lagers, so any solid selection will do the trick.

    Go to Google Maps and point it to where you are staying and type in some keywords individually into the search bar and it will show you if/where the following are in that area... I swear by Google maps to find stuff

    ABC, Publix, Whole foods, Total Wine, Knightly Spirits(Williamsburg store)

    or enter just Liquor Store and see the small independent places and call asking if they carry craft beer

    You can go to the Total Wine website and search for Cigar City and Jester King and see what they have available at that store. The other retailers will definitely have the usual Cigar City stuff (Jai Alai, Maduro, Cracker, Helles, etc) but the limited or seasonal stuff will vary and may or may not be on the shelf.
