Across the Montreal/NY border? Or in New York City? I don't see them distributed in NY too often. I've enjoyed a couple of very good IPA's when I was in Quebec last summer.

The only one i can think of is Red Racer IPA. I'd be leery of the dates on them though...

    Maybe Moralité from DDC?

Thrust from Great Lakes just hit the LCBO, but you'd have to cross in to Ontario for that one.

Neither Ontairo or Quebec is really known for having great IPA, and most of the better ones (especially Ontario's) don't see proper or regular distribution.

Fat Tug - Driftwood, Red Racer is nice, I also really like Disco Soleil when I had it on tap up there at Dieu du Ciel.

Le Castor Yakima is pretty good. Ditto Moralite. Great Lakes seasonal IPA's are usually good (Thrust is the best of them and is in the LCBO now - Have to pick up a couple while I'm in Toronto). Fat Tug is good when it's fresh.

Problem is they don't really see distribution outside their provinces (and if I included a Bellwoods, outside of it's own brewery).

Any ideas why a search for 'Thrust' or '419721' (the LCBO #) on LCBO.com yields zero results, but both works fine on DrinkVine?

    Sorry about the thread-jack!

I have enjoyed Moralite when it is fresh. I either haven't tried the other highly ranked Canadian IPAs and/or the stuff I have tried has been underwhelming (likely not fresh).

I'll echo the suggestion of Le Castor's Yakima IPA. I'm not sure what their distribution is like in Quebec, but definitely worth trying to find a shop that stocks it if you cross the border into Quebec. DDC Moralite is solid

If you ever make your way into Ontario, Great Lakes (not the Ohio brewery) is distributing their great IPAs much more widely as of late, and therefore is fairly easy to find. Thrust! (my favorite) is available now. Lake Effect, Robohop and Karma Citra are all seeing LCBO distribution when produced.

As others have said: Moralite and Yakima IPA are excellent IPAs. The Charlevoix "Vache Folle" single hop IPAs are pretty good too; just had the Barbe Rouge hop varietal and it was great, very different from the usual.

Wow, had GLB Thrust last night; super good! So glad more of the Tank Ten releases are making their way out of Toronto.

Thanks for all these suggestions! I am going to see if the bottle shops in upstate NY (closer to the Canadian border) carry some of these wonderful offerings. I'll have to bring a list with me! Thanks again, and if there are any more you know of..., please keep 'em coming!

Get something from Pit Caribou if you're in Quebec. I really like their IIPA de la Sorcière, which is now available in two versions. Both are good, but I haven't had the new one enough to know if I like it more or less than the original.

Best Canadian IPAs I've had are Driftwood Fat Tug and Central City Red Racer. Nothing else I've had is close.

Other than Flying Monkeys Smashbomb Atomic IPA (which is a decent IPA) I have not had many from eastern Canada.
