I was wondering if any place was getting an amount that wouldn't sell out in an hour.

According to Spec's, it will not be in until next week.

Other areas are saying allocations are better than in the past. I don't think anyone in Houston had it, dropped by 3 places, last was Specs and guy said it would be next week

Specs beer dept. twitter account posted it earlier today that it would release tomorrow 4/3 and there's a limit of 2 per customer for 12 oz.

Just curious....did anyone go wait in line at Spec's Downtown this morning for KBS? How long was it?

I've opted out of that for the past two years. To me, KBS has gotten easier and easier to find at other places that don't do a bottle limit and don't have lines. I managed to secure myself a 4-pack without any of the nonsense.

Additionally, for a barrel-aged stout, its great. BUT, there are more and more other equally great BBA stouts that between the price-gauging, long lines, and bottle limits - it just doesn't seem worth a huge hassle.

OK so I went to HEB on West Alabama first because I heard they had 4 packs, they were gone in 30 mins apparently. Went to Specs on Smith St at 12:15pm and saw a couple buying the last one.

It is so good to see Houston, like other big cities when it comes to limited releases. The first couple KBS releases in Houston had some much hype and butthurt. It's good to see!

I agree with bestenjoyedintexas this beer is very good but we have many great choices that are available now.

My goal was one 4-pack & one bomber.

    Was successful on both fronts.

I had no hassle. No headache. No lines. No price-gauging (sp?).

Smile my beer brothers. Good times are upon us. Now, our selection is far and wide. Many moons ago we could only dream of the selection we have now.

    Namaste

    Drink up me hearties!

    Cheers!

    Prost!!!

HEB in Vintage posted earlier today limit 2, bombers were gone when I got there, and I think they had less than a case of 12 oz. Champions WF only got 1 case, 1 per person

Just left Total wine at Willowbrook, looks like they got a case of bombers, couldn't do a bomber for $20, so more for the masses

What are 4-packs, or single 12 oz bottles going for?

I got my 4-pack for $18.75 plus tax. Bomber was $19.99 plus tax.

Saw single bottles selling for $5 - $6 at most reasonable places. I think Spec's Downtown was trying to peddle them for $7 a piece.

As a note: Im really tired of the bottle limit bullshit.

No offense, but why buy a bomber? Same beer but more than twice as expensive.

Yup, that is what I told the Total wine guy. I ended up with 3 12oz and am fine with that.

    No offense taken, partner!

When my brother comes around over the holidays we enjoy grabbing a couple snifters and cracking a bottle of something great. We really enjoyed the Abyss variants this past holiday.

Besides - Im not about to run all over town buying whatever the stupid bottle limit is at all these stores, so the bomber does the trick. :grinning:
