I'll have to look for this one. We do get Uinta here, I think. I've never had much from them.

I checked their website and don’t see it. On BA it’s listed as retired. Bummer. It came in 750 ml bottles. I’m thinking if they ever make it again that will change.

@cavedave's description fits my preference too and unfortunately they are rare around my neck of the woods as well. I actually think stouts are the better backbone for them rather than the more usual amber-ish ale.

My favorite lighter version is Smuttynose's and my favorite stout is from Cape Anne Brewing company in Gloucester. Neither have much spice at all but a nice squashy roundness comes through.

Sitting on the back deck of Cape Ann Brewing overlooking the harbor when there's just starting to be a chill in the air while sipping their pumpkin stout is as "Fall" as it gets. Hopefully I'll be able to do so this year.

Yup. I'd have to take a longer think before I say "best I've ever had" but it was the first one that jumped to mind for a really, really good pumpkin beer.

There it is - my #1, with the Cinnamon Sugar Rim, on tap, please & thank you.

Also, Two Roads makes a Rum Barrel Aged Roadsmary Baby that is pretty intense.

Just (~3hrs ago) unexpectedly crossed paths with a 6 pack of Schlafly Pumpkin Ale at the grocery store. Snapped one up and boy is it delicious as ever.

God no. Unless it's Rumpkin, then I suppose it's okay. 'Course I don't see that very often.

I like Pumpkin beers in limited quantity. Drinking a Whole Hog right now. It's tasty,

First cool evening I will have a Southern Tier Warlock. Hoping to try the Pumpkin Yet from Great Divide, but not a huge fan, especially in August heat.

I've always loved pumpkin beers and I always will.. Fall is my favorite season and it's hard to beat a Pumpkin Ale on a cool and crisp fall day with the leaves falling.. not all are great, but it's hard to beat a good one.. Pumking will probably always be my favorite along with all of their variants of it, including Warlock.. I'll always appreciate classics like DFH Punkin and Weyerbacher Imperial Pumpkin although they might not be considered "mind blowing" these days..

    Other ones that are awesome:

    Rivertowne - Headless Wylie
    Whole Hog - Pumpkin Ale
Thirsty Dog - Bourbon Barrel-Aged Imperial Pumpkin Ale
    Ellicottville - Pumpkinville Latte
Elysian - Night Owl Pumpkin Ale
    Shipyard - Smashed Pumpkin
    Avery - Pump[KY]n
    Tröegs - Master Of Pumpkins
    Saucony Creek - Maple Mistress
Flying Monkey - Paranormal Imperial Pumpkin Ale

All I can say is this...

Avoid the Sam Adam's "Jack-O". We picked up two singles of Pumpkin Beers the other day as I had a taste for one (this being one of them...) and it may be the worst thing I have tasted in a very, very, very long time.

I can't explain the weirdness of this beer. It's sweet, mixed with cleaner and hotel pool or something weird, some spices and an awkward finish.

Honestly can't believe Sam Adam's (or any brewery) would literally put this beer in a package for sale. It's that bad.

Looking forward to picking up some tried and true examples in the near future, though!

Is it safe to say that you never had Sam Adams Cranberry Lambic?

    Cheers!

    'Zactly! :beers:
When I first tried Horseheads' Pumpkin Ale ('15?) it was just like that : grain , some fruity pumpkin, very light on the spice. The base beer , (Weihenstephener Festbier-like?) was the most prominent flavor. The next year, they went to the dark side (of the spice cabinet.) Disappointing.

I'm looking forward to Keuka's pumpkin cream ale, & Beer Tree's Mashing Pumpkins. After that, probably a hard pass on the rest that show up here.

ps : RBA Pumking, with a few years on it, is a delight. Less pumpkin pie, more beer.
