I just found out here in Michigan you don't need a Costco membership to buy alcohol. Have ya guys had any luck getting good imperial stouts at Costco in the past? Thanks

Never seen anything worthwhile at the Costco's here in MI. With that said, when Hopslam came out, it was like $14.50/6 pack and sold out immediately that day at all the stores in metro Detroit - with no limits. I heard stories of BCBS in other states but never here in MI. Good luck.

This is apparently not true in every state. I thought it was, in 2014 when BCBS hit some Costcos I went in to buy a couple cases. Had a huge argument with the manager about it and he took me into his office and showed me on their website the clause that refers to being able to buy liquor without a membership. It depends on the state's laws and many states have laws prohibiting requiring a membership to buy alcohol from any establishment. Apparently IL used to have a law like this, and a few years ago the law changed. Now IL is not on the list of states that Costco will allow alcohol sales without a membership.

That said, I bought a membership. Totally worth it as we shop there regularly now.

Only good thing I ever found at Costco beer related was the four-pack of Stone bombers for like $15-$16 a couple years ago. That was a hell of a deal since it included IRS.

Recently they have this 4 pack of Sierra Nevada, (25 oz bottles maybe?) for $30. It includes BA Bigfoot. Can't remember the other beers. Not sure if that is a good deal or not.

I see Dragon's Milk bombers regularly. I haven't noticed the price, but my friend said he paid $8 for one.

Thanks guys. Sounds like Meijer in my area would be the best bet for me.

Best I've seen at the Auburn Hills Costco is Dragons Milk bombers. They have 30 packs (or is it 15) of Two Hearted Regularly.

The two Costcos near me (near west Chicago burbs) don't have anything decent. One of them used to have a rack of bombers, but not anymore. They never had anything limited anyways.

The costco's in MN have surly for a pretty good price. Todd the axeman, abrasive, & wet for under $15 a 4 pack is generally the cheapest around.

I think it was 3 years ago that I heard about this 'exception rule' in a thread about Utopias being available at a Costco. I drove 75 miles to my closest one in Kentwood and bought a bottle.

Costco near us currently has the 4 bomber pack from SN with BA Bigfoot in it. Otherwsie the beer lineup was less than underwhelming and the prices weren't all that great.

$13 bottles of Blushing Monk when that was last released. Mostly large format bottles at good prices.

Madison, Wi (middleton?) has New Glarus fruit bombers (rasp tart, cherry belgian, ect) for $10, usually cost save a couple bucks vs most places in Sconnie.

Good call. I've picked up the last few Backstage Series releases there at the lowest price around.
