Does anyone know of new breweries in the Orlando area that aren't listed here? I'm surprised at the lack of breweries in the area.

    Sadly, it's a brewery wasteland.

Go to Cask and Larder and you'll be far less sad.

Supposedly dead lizard is coming, but no idea when. And OBP brewpub should be opening within the year. But yea, kind of a wasteland around here.

I saw some big building under construction right off I-4 closer to Lakeland (big beer bottle cutout on the side of the building) Anyone know what this is?

That place is gonna be like a contract brewery or something like that. It's supposed to help a homebrewer start working on the big boy equipment before opening their own brewery. Read more here http://draftmag.com/beereditor/the-rise-of-brewery-incubators/

It's called Brewhub and CCB and a bunch of others are going to contract brew there. http://brewhub.com/#Facilities

I should add that the intent of this type of facility is to help small brewers expand brewing capacity without having to invest in equipment.

Redlight Redlight is officially brewing too. Brent is making small batches upstairs that will be available at the bar per the internets.

I think it is 10 gallons at a time. cant really call that a brewery. Its a bar that sells homebrew.

Can you legally sell homebrew, or will the have to give this away. I don't believe RLRL has a brewing licence from the state of FL.

If you check the state of FL website, RLRL does not have a brewing license. Sadly, the ONLY Orlando company who has a brewers license with the state of FL is Orlando Brewing.

That said, I have complete confidence that RLRL is handling this legally. There may be some sort of loophole for microbreweries, or "home brew" that is given away for free.

If you look at their retail/beverage license under "SPECIAL QUALIFICATIONS" it says "Brew Pub" effective date 03/06/2014. They probably don't need a manufacturers/distributers license because they don't plan on distributing.

    Great catch!

Yeah, they don't really do stuff half-ass there so I couldn't see them using homebrew loopholes or anything that was less than legit.
