Best one I've had is, as mentioned previously by many, Perennial 17 Mint Chocolate. Mint chocolate will beat up your nose, and certainly be present in the taste as well. But as mentioned, it's best to split this one. It was overwhelming quick.

I've never had one, looks like I gotta seek some of these out.

Perennial 17 was one of the better ones that I've had.

+1 for the Two Brother's Peppermint Bark Porter. Almost like drinking chocolate peppermint bark (duh), but they do have some nice roast barley notes as a nod to it actually being a beer.

As for Pipeworks Mint Truffle Abduction, it delivered on the mint and chocolate, but I think it was just too damn minty for me. Coulda been used as a breath mint.

Back in 2014 I had Azazel Double Stout at Al's of Hampden outside of Harrisburg. It is on my personal top ten of all-time. Imagine a roasted malt milkshake with the flavor of Andes mints added to it. Sadly, as far as I know it was a one-off.

I am not a big fan of either Satan's Bake Sale or DFH Black & Red (both mentioned a few times above).

I gotta laugh (not at you just in general, please understand) because it brings up a memory. This beer is my answer to the question "is there such a thing as a 2 ounce drain pour". My wife and I were at an in-store grand tasting and were kinda looking forward to trying this weird-seeming concoction. Stood in line a bit because apparently lots of people were curious. We each took a tiny sip from the tiny sampler....and it's hard to describe the reaction...not wanting to actually swallow and no place to surreptitiously spit it out....we choked down the tiny sip and edged the sample cups back onto the table trying to avoid the "what do you think" inquiries from the servers...certainly something we'll not forget.

We kinda concluded that there's some things that just don't belong together in a bottle of beer.

I remember this beer from DFH. I think it was a brewpub exclusive. I though it was horrible, hahaha. So crazy how people's tastes can be so different. Guess that's why there are so many beers out there.

Perrenial's BA 17 is off the charts good and the base version is solid as well.

    I loved Satan's Bake Sale...

However I was not a fan at all of Perennial 17. When I drank it, it tasted like mint skoal and took me back to being a dumbass kid trying that stuff.

I don't know how to explain this, because you're right, that would be gross, but drinking a mint-chocolate stout isn't like that.

I'm going to go ahead and second Pipeworks Mint Truffle Abduction.

Two Brothers - Peppermint Bark Porter. Had it a few weeks ago. I feel it needed more mint honestly.

In my opinion 17 tasted like a far sweeter Andes Mint, just a couple notches below the cloying sweetness of Choklat. Definitely one to be splitting with a group but a very good beer for that purpose.

Jekyll Brewing Redneck Christmas Stout; perfect balance of mint and chocolate. Just like drinking Girl Scout Thin Mints with a suprisingly light mouthfeel; fantastic!

We just tapped Thirsty Dog Old Choco (Chocolate Mint Milk Stout) and it's really good. Tastes like an Andes.

I was gonna say this too. The mint is mild, but definitely there. Fairly dry beer too, which I think helps in not being cloying.
