Any updates on new IL breweries, opening or planned?

Against The Grain Brewing is slated to open in Rock Island, in late May. From what I've learned, they'll have seven craft taps, two taps of their own beers, and one handle dedicated to local home brewers. The two beers, that they brewed, at release are scheduled to be a Blood Orange Coriander Wit and a Roasted Garlic Stout. Supposed to have a decent selection of bottles, too.

 

There is a new brewery in Grayslake called light the lamp, they are having a tasting soon, check their website.

 

Interesting, hadn't heard of them yet... although there's a brewery in Louisville named Against The Grain, they collaborate with Local Option and distribute to IL. http://www.atgbrewery.com/

 

Any links? Location? For a brewery opening in 2 months, they have zero web presence. As emerge077 stated, there is already a brewery called Against The Grain distributing to IL, so I'm not so sure about this...

 

There's one opening in the western suburbs. Oswego, I think. A brewery only... no brewpub. I will find out if it's cool to discuss their name and what not, but I don't want to ruffle any feathers. I just had one of their brewer's Belgian Imperial Stouts (off a kegerator) and it was fantastic. Huge, and delicious, even though it was really young.

Them. I just haven't seen Steve or Raf on here, and haven't seen anyone mention anything. So I thought maybe it was too early in their biz plan etc. But seriously... Steve is NO JOKE.

 

I live out that way and follow them on Facebook. I think it was said already, but Solemn Oath should be opening in Naperville soon.

Solemn Oath just had their first beer ( brewed with RB Lomard) tapped last night at RB Lombard called Solemn Oats. Had it today it was impressed by this oatwine.

 

I hear plans are in works for a production brewery in Alton.

 

Oatwine? That sounds interesting. It is on tap at Rock Bottom Lombard, right? I'm looking forward to their opening. Anybody know what type of beers they plan to brew?

North of Rockford, Illinois.. In Machesney Park.. About Four Miles off of I-90.. It will be opening in May

 

Limestone closed there doors in Plainfield last night and will be re-opening in June farther north in the Fox Valley area

 

That place looks awesome!!! Looks like them and Solemn Oath are building some great pubs for their locals and something worth making a beer trip to for the rest of us!!!

 

Sucks that they're closing, but awesome that they'll soon be much closer to me...

fox valley Area is usually a reference to the Aurora area when out in the Plainfield area.
