Anybody Heading to Alpine for Bad Boy ?

Did i read his letter right that they also released BA Odins?

I hope BA Odins is better than before. It wasn't very impressive fresh (out of the bottle) and became a drainpour after a few months.

 

I had the 100% BA version on tap during CBC - they said it was the same batch that would be bottled. It was fantastic!

 

The good news is they are making more and more of it. 6 growler limit = there is a shitload. It seems to show up every 4 months on their rotating schedule which appears to be Hoppy Birthday - New Milennium - Bad Boy - Expo ( this one misses a cycle )

 

I'm not touching the Odin's until I can taste one. Unless ther're take payment in the form of bottles of the last batch or bottles of BA Token.

 

Tuatara has to be due as well. I really like that one. Hopefully Red Card will make regular appearances too.

 

This batch of Bad Boy is the best yet. It's a tad mellower. They are listing it as 9% ABV, last time I bought a growler ( last batch ) it said 10%. Best IPA Alpine makes imo.

Cracked my OR purchased today because of your post. I drank it at 55F and beyond. I think it's identical to what I had on tap at CBC. Your palate is different, maybe more developed - the usual your mileage may vary! It DOES need to be the usual warm BA Stout temperature.

 

Sure it might taste good today but how sour is it going to be in a month? I would love to give Alpine the benefit of the doubt, but they refuse to take any responsibility for selling people infected beers. If they would take some responsibility for the quality of their product that would be certainly be nice. Until they can do that, forget about it.

 

Anyone heading up to the Firestone beer fest next weekend interested in doing an in-person trade? Would love a couple Alpine growlers, and I can offer up some of the new 5050 stuff (BART and Annularity).

 

I think you misinterpreted my post. I didn't have any of the CBC batch which you said was the same as the new bottled one.
I was referring to the last bottled batch that is still sitting in everyone's cellars because they don't want to drink it and/or feel bad trading it. If you want one of those bottles for reference, let me know.

 

I rolled the dice and bought 4 bottles of Odin's Raven today. Hopefully they have worked out the problems they were having with the previous bottlings of their BA stuff. I also got a growler of New Millennium and Bad Boy which are both awesome.

 

Posts like this and the email updates alpine sends out really press me to time a reason to head down to the whales vagina...
