@_VONDY_ What pour team are you on? Volunteering is tougher to get into these days. They first send out re-invites to past volunteers. Next, they go through "volunteer friends", those who were referred by current volunteers. Then it's new applicants (accepted in May/June/July), and they are a bit picky as to who is selected. Industry experience helps, but so does the number of shifts you choose. *This is for pouring. I'm not sure how difficult it is to volunteer for other shifts--set up, tear down, security, etc* I've poured for 10 years (I think) and noticed the "enrichment" of volunteer pourers. More know their stuff...although it's still a small portion. As always, I'll be at the first table (Pacific Northwest this year).
I've noticed a vast improvement over the past few years. Just seem to be more on top of things, as opposed to getting annoyed with you for interrupting their getting drunk.
I'm an Assistant Tear down coordinator. I work on Sunday, but I'll be at most of the sessions with credintials that say Ratman. See ya there!
I'm pouring Saturday on the Malty Dawgs pouring crew. And yes, unless you're invited by another volunteer it's extremely difficult to get in. Really lucked out this time around.
You're definitely not hard to pick out. Always saw ya, even before I knew ya. See ya roaming around Thursday; pop by my area on Fri and/or both sessions Saturday.
I'm pouring for the Malty Dawgs, too. This is my first year volunteering or attending the GABF, so I'm really excited. Is this CACCPT Jeff?
