I am going to brew 10 gallons of IPA. I am calling it "Times are tough but this beer is hard."
Looks like OG60 with 125 IBU of Chinook/Columbus late in the boil with just a smidgen at 60.

Brewed 5 gallons munich citra smash on friday. May try to squeeze in an other batch this week before the weekend if possible. Gotta catch up! An empty fermentation freezer is a terrible thing.

Double IPA inspired by Great Lakes Alchemy Hour and a hoppy porter inspired by Three Floyds Snow Weasel. Also bottled Simcoe and Chinook IPAs yesterday.

2-Row/Simcoe smash currently mashing. I'm a little nervous for my first AG batch. Once the boil starts I'll relax with a homebrew. I've already got my hops measured out and my kitchen smells AMAZING.

If foreplay took 4-5 weeks the overwhelming majority of relationships would fail.

Went to brew a weizenbock yesterday and had my first ever failed brew attempt. I had the stuck sparge from hell, and between falling a couple gallons short of my pre-boil gravity and the fact that I had probably gotten a good bit of grain in the wort from stirring the mash to try and get better flow, I decided to just scrap it all together. I'll save the yeast and hops and re-order the grain bill and try again soon. I've been meaning to re-build the braid for my mash tun as it was beat up anyway, and now I just have a reason to do it this week.

I'm kegging my rauchbock and then racking a smoked rye beer onto the yeast cake. I intensely smoke the malt for these 2 beers with pecan wood, they've smelled and tasted smoky from the mash on. They will both lager until Oktoberfest where they will be tapped and consumed.

Almost 40 batches and I've never needed them, as I've never had any issues with a stuck sparge. Definitely going to use them in some of my brews going forward though.

Cleaned out almost all of my grain this weekend with a kitchen sink APA, split 10 gallon batch between Conan and Pacman yeasts. I still have a pound of coffee malt and 6 ounces of Roasted Barley, might be time for a big porter (winter is coming).
