With the Aussies in England being sent a couple of cases of Englosh Bitter in honour of our betters' slight overreaction to a perfectly legal and deserved dismissal, it got me wondering what beers are being consumed down here while our boys beat the Englishmen up there.

Tonight is the first day of the third test, and my beer is One Love Pale Ale from Brick Lane Brewing in Melbourne. My plan is to post a picture of my cricket beer every night while the Ashes plough on.

    What are you drinking?

    Cheers!

I sense this might be a thread with my beers and no others!

    Ah well.

Day two is about to start, and I'm actually sneaking in a cheeky bourbon between the Holgate American IPAs... Just don't tell beer I'm cheating on it.

    Go Aussies!

    Cheers!

Day three and my lonely Ashes vigil continues, made bearable tonight by Red Eye Rye from Dainton...

    Go Aussies!

Day 2 of the 4th Test and I'm beginning to think I'm the only one on BA watching the cricket....

Cheers Az. You’re not alone! Not a baggy green fan myself but spent my youth watching Warnie spin his web around just about everyone, and Ponting play front-foot pulls off Pollock, Walsh, Caddick and company.

Before golf, cricket was definitely my biggest sport, to play and watch.

Hope this goes to a 5th test even though I’m sure you’d like it wrapped up here! No one likes a dead rubber. Not an English fan either, mind, just a cricket fan

That said I’ve had my fill of final innings Ben stokes-never-say-die victories!

Old mate Stokes seems to be warming into his work early on day 3. Hopefully we kill this one off sooner rather than later (I type as he smacks another four...).

The way we're playing, and the way the weather has hated us this series, I expect the 5th test will have a live contest...

Munich Dunkel by Cubby Haus Brewing near Ballarat (with mood-enhancing filter) shares my Ashes viewing tonight.

    Cheers!

Looks like we are all but set on a meaningful 5th test then, save for some heroics, who knows I guess it’s possible but methinks this one’s going to the English.

I would like a classic test, something like the 05 series would be great. I definitely think the aussies are a stronger outfit, just some exceptional showings from the English the last two years. I mean, Crawley nearly making a double hundred alone is laughable.

Do you follow wallabies as well? Great year for the commonwealth sports fans, rugga and cricket world cups!

I follow any Oz team, so yeah, a good year for Commonwealth sports, but a bad year for the Commonwealth Games (we just pulled out of hosting it)!

    Cheers!
