I can't believe I saw "Red Hoptber" and Tumbler Brown already. I know they usually come out early but it is still August! Any others popping up? I'll be honest- I have not tried the red hoptober- but I am intrigued but refused to buy due to being a fall seasonal. Maybe I should just buy it and drink it fresh! grrrrrr.

It seems that they're releasing earlier and earlier as the years go by. Give it another 4 years and the cycle will be back in place.

Some pumpkin beers have been out for a couple of weeks around here already. If I were into pumpkin beers I wouldn't even be feelin' it, and as it is it just seems silly.

O'fests are a slightly different story, because their flavors aren't so intrinsically linked to the season as pumpkin/spices. I might get those as fresh as possible.

At least the wet hop/harvest beers won't be out early...they'd better not!

It's July here... You must be in a VERY different time zone.

There's been a few threads on this topic already, and they occur every year. It's just breweries trying to position themselves into the seasonal market first / maximize their seasonal sales.

I understand it's a marketing thing, but it's really starting to annoy me. I saw the Blue Moon Pumpkin Ale in stores the other day and I just threw my hands up in disgust. The best you can do to protest is to not buy it, though I don't know how much that will help.

SN tumbler I wish was year around, I do not really think the beer style fits a seasonal beer pattern IMHO. That said, many breweries are at peak, and can only make these part time so to speak. Wish it was out here, I love that beer...

When I go to the shop looking for a summer beer, and I see a breweries fall seasonals staring me in the face, it maximizes nothing.

It feels like store putting out Christmas merchandise in September.

Shipyard pumpkinhead or smashed pumpkin? Smashed pumpkin is year round while pumpkinhead is a seasonal, fyi. That's all, bro.

Where I work they're setting Halloween stuff now and some XMAS. I don't like Pumpkin beers so I really don't care all that much, but it's pushing 100 again and a fall seasonal is the last thing on my mind or wants list.

Am I the only one who doesn't give a sh*t?

Don't get me wrong, I can appreciate drinking specific beers at specific times of the year, but I drink what I feel like drinking, when I feel like drinking it. My drinking habits just aren't deemed by a calender. This uprising over the releases of seasonals over the years is just plain silly to me.

And for the record, I haven't seen any fall seasonals here and still wouldn't care even if I had.

No. No, you're not. I don't get why we have to "throw our hand up in disgust" as another poster mentioned. It's just a beer, it'll be there when September/October/November rolls around and you want the fall brews and it's here now for people that want it.

I've never seen any fresh fall seasonals in July. Though the next week will be in the low 70s, nights probably in the high 50s so an Oktoberfest sounds good. The first fall seasonal I always see is Sam Adams Octoberfest, and the earliest that's shown up is August 12th.

The pumpkin beers will be there in November, and they'll be five months old. That's the objection.
