Well-said...I cringe to hear Trump on Cowherd, but it's for (poli/)science.

The volatility from year to year, even if the brewer follows the same recipe, is part of what I love about FH beer. It's the epitome of "vintage".

Question: Is Born Yesterday a "wet" hop beer ?

This phrasing confusion was brought to my attention because of SN Celebration. It says Fresh Hop IPA, but it is just referring to the hops being just picked and dried. We use Fresh and Wet interchangeably quite a bit, but apparently there is a difference.

So far, I've only come across 3 breweries that define "fresh hops" as "freshly kilned": Sierra Nevada, Ecliptic, and Blackfoot River in Montana. Others may have not made it clear, but the other 350+ breweries I contacted seemed to be on the same page about using "fresh" to mean un-kilned hops.

I missed this beer before leaving SF and Im in PDX for the week, anyone know of any bars that still have it on tap?

We have a keg on tap at Belmont Station, but it's been on for 3 days now so I'm not sure how much longer it'll last.

Trust me, you guys up there in the Pacific Northwest don't need anything by Lagunitas (anymore, wink). When I hear about all of the great beers coming out of your area, I'm so jealous. You have more than enough produced locally to spend your money on. Now, who wants to send me some of that goodness.

Given that particular synchronicity, I would've gotten a whole case if I were you! Lucky omens, or something...

Just had one last night and was very impressed. This stuff is one heck of a good beer, especially for the money. Ill probably pick up another bottle or two at 99 bottles today if they haven't already sold out. I am still partial to Cowiche Canyon, however this is a good second.

They must have changed the price. I just picked up a 6-pack for $10.99. Receipt says "Lagunitas Citrusin." At least a couple more on the shelf (kind of hidden).

Still plenty at pint defiance as well. Think the price there is around 10.59, or thereabouts. Also bottles of the new de garde saison as well, much to my surprise. PrIice was $10 a pop for those. Agree the born yesterday is very good.

Picked up a 6-pack yesterday at Zupan's on Belmont, who also is already getting Brown Shugga.

    It is good.

Draheim, looks like someone printed a wrong sign. I was just at Ballard Market and the Lagunitas Pale Ale was on sale with "Fresh Hop" crossed out with marker. The sign in front of the Born Yesterday read "Not part of sales event" $10.99.

No difference in Fresh or Wet, they mean the same thing (within 24 hours). Sierra Nevada, however is stretching the limits of the definition to "used within 7 days of picking" instead of the standard 24 hours. Since there's no labelling requirements for this, anyone can put the word fresh on there. Breakside flash freezes them and uses them all year, calls them fresh, but it's kinda like say fresh frozen fish. All kinds of market speak and techniques here, mind you all very good beers too!

The flash freezing and shattering technique is only used for their fresh hop beers. All their other beers are brewed with "traditional" dried hops. I wish they could figure out a way to capture that flavor all year, but sadly that's probably impossible.
