Had a blast last year and just thought I would pass along the cheap airfare price. $174 for non-stop round trip.
Staying at the Denver Ramada Downtown for $97/night. Run of the mill room, but has a free shuttle and is within 2 miles of the Convention Center, Falling Rock and etc.
I am back again. Rare Beer, Thursday session, and Saturday Afternoon. Hopefully can get the tickets. Staying at the downtown Marriott this year.
I have a full ensemble of Loudmouth Golf pants. THey are all hideous in their own special way. Perfect for GABF! Rare Beer got announced and tickets went on sale in July last year, I believe. I think the week before the GABF tickets went on sale. I missed as I did not decide to go until last minute, but was able to acquire some through some awesome BA. Will not miss them this year.
Probably won't be going this year but wanted to recommend the hotel Monaco in downtown Denver. Booked it on hotwire or some similar site for about $100 a night last year - fantastic hotel and location close to everything. Even has a free daily HH. Close to 16th Street Mall and free buses. This is not a paid endorsement by the way :-) Also I wouldn't be too uptight if you can't get GABF tickets beforehand, I was able to get some off an authorized scalper outside the convention center (I did an exchange Saturday for Thursday tickets) for $20. If you are going to Falling Rock get there as early as possible because it's impossible to get in once the beer geeks converge. Cheers, Paul
My buddy went last year and said it was a great experience. If I remember correctly he even got some Pliny the Younger. He doesn't trade, but when I bring out something new I get in a trade he frequently informs me that he had it in Denver.
I'm going, 5th year in a row, Staying at a Decent to Nice hotel off the beaten path a bit, But.... it's down the street and walking distance from Crooked Stave. Oh.. Plus it 85 a night, with a nice free breakfast.
