I might be an outlier here, but I didn't really care for it. I don't like hard-alcohol and this one was straight booze to me. I have had 08,09,12,13,14 all recently and this one was just too much booze for me. I was a little surprised, thought a few years would mellow it out a bit, but it's all there.

That being said, if you like booze, this one would be great haha.

That's what you said about BCBS 2012 in another thread. Was this also true for you of BCBCS 2012?

I am curious about this as well. Fresh I thought 2012 was the worst coffee flavor wise but I have heard a few reports that this supposedly tastes divine now.

I had the bomber 2 months ago and found it to be Muted. I love it fresh tough. One thing I have learned is you have to try it yourself. Good luck op.

Has a few ounces at a bottle share in Medford, Oregon at BeerWorks and it was sensational. Having been able to indulge in a many a snifter of the '14 on tap (at a couple of places here in NYC that the boozehounds didn't rampage) found the '12 shockingly bright. Those La Tortuga beans aged magnificently and were still prominent and as 1 guy put it a little peppery. The 'peppery' very well could have been what put people off when it was fresh.

Keeping in mind they use different beans each year, imagine results — both fresh and aged — will vary a great deal.

Find it quickly, drink it very slowly.

I personally liked it better fresh and if you're in it for the coffee, it's still going to be there but not as bright. As a beer overall though it will still be very good.

I shared a bottle a few weeks ago with friends and it was way past prime. It was oxidized and the coffee was stale and unpleasant. I think it's only getting worse. On the other hand, regular '12 BCS is drinking awesome right now.

Had a bottle of 2012 BCBCS approximately 2 weeks ago with a friend. Drank it with a desert paring of caramel and chocolate covered bacon. It was amazing. We drank 4 oz of BCBCS before having the food paired with it and had alot of expresso left still. When the food was paired caramel and chocolate covered bacon it really made the expresso pop out over the barrel and the stout. Also I have some bias in this situation because I think that 2012 BCBCS is the best vintage that BCBCS has ever seen and I have had all vintages of BCBCS. No other vintage comes close to 2012; its untouchable.
