The Bruery Provisions posted on Facebook today that they have Eclipse on the shelf. I have never tried any and would donate my future children to do so (beer>kids). If someone could pick one or two up for me I would love you forever. I will be in California January 5-13 and I will be making a stop at Provisions during my stay so I can meet up with you and get it from you. I can either pay you COD or over Paypal. I have no idea how much they are so I don't know how big of a favor it is I am asking. Please BM me.
I'm debating whether or not to head down there before work. But just in case, which version/s are you interested in? IIRC, all versions are rougly $30 after tax
IMHO, the Elijah Craig 12 and Rebel Yell are worth seeking out due to the balance of whiskey and imp stout. The EC 20 (if available), has little whiskey flavor. The Mellow Corn was good too, as was the Rittenhouse Rye. The EC 12 and Rebel Yell would be my recommendations.
I believe Rebel Yell was futures/tap-room only, as well as EC-20 (this year). Others are around. I've got some extras of the common ones but I'm in San Diego. BM me if you can't get it elsewhere.
The release this year consisted of the following varieties: Elijah Craig 12 year, Rittenhouse Rye, Old Fitzgerald, Corn Whiskey, Evan Williams and Bernheim Wheated? The Bernheim was rare and I don't think shops are getting more than one case. OSheas got theirs today, they got 4 varieties, not sure which ones. I know Hi Times got all 6 varieties last Friday. I would call around and ask if one of the mentioned shops will hold a bottle for you. Couldn't hurt. What's around in your area?
Thanks for responding, obviously I missed your trip there already (I haven't been able to get online for a couple days). I didn't even know the varieties, I just know its supposed to be awesome and I love BA stouts. I'll be going to SD from 1/10-1/11 I believe. My girl's family lives in Riverside but we are going to SD for a night and up to Orange for a day. Maybe I can meet up with you and either trade something I get here in AZ or buy one or two from you. We probably don't get anything in AZ that you can't get in SD. We still have FW Sucaba and DDBA on the shelf and I have heard those disappeared out there (but I could be wrong)
Just heard from a friend in S.D. 5 varities of Eclipse still available at Olive Tree. Also Best Damn Beer Shop still has three varities. Good Luck!
Dondirk are you in AZ now? We have all of this year's 50/50 Eclipse variants on shelves right now. I saw them Thursday yesterday. Also: I'll be in San Diego tomorrow...Tornado in the evening....then staying also through Wednesday morning...PM if you are having issues or need info.
