Then at minimum, it would keep all that crap out of the main homebrewing forum, so still a win.

I voted yes but I think some sort of self-moderation would be required to make it successful. And by that I mean, eliminating all of the crap posts that make HBT recipes so annoying to sift through. Perhaps an automatic deletion of posts (like a 2 week expiration window) unless a post was either quoted or liked. Just meaningful discussion. No more "I'm going to brew this next" posts.

Also, agreed, some sort of standardized format for entering recipes. That would eliminate a lot of unnecessary discussion too.

I like the idea of standardizing. Thus you could search by OG, ABV, style, IBU and other quantitive markers, which I place a lot of emphasis on when brewing beer.

I resent having to look at multiple forums. I don't use the other BA forums much. For my homebrewing info, I want one stop shopping.

I think a nice little sidebar menu on the side with certain ingredients like how shopping sites like newegg have. It would be something to maybe add in the future. Options like, style, hops, grain, size,extract/allgrain,etc. I think your on to something for sure. That was my tiny little idea that came to mind.

This is not entering Dreamworld. It's not too much to ask. Really

I like this idea. Thinking it might be difficult to get cooperation with a standardized format, but I also standardization would set it apart. Worth a shot.
