just wondering if anyone out there is friends with or knows Rob, username Newkidroundhere. we had a great first trade about a month or so ago and set up another trade prior to Labor Day. I shipped my end Wednesday the 4th and he was planning to ship the same day. He told me he had a family illness, nothing serious, and that my box was packed up. That was Thursday the 5th and I have not heard from him since despite multiple messages. in fact, he hasn't even logged in since Saturday the 7th. I was hoping that maybe somebody had some info as to what may be up as he was always great at communicating and was pretty active on the site prior to this. I certainly hope nothing serious has happened either to him or his family. if anyone has any info, shoot me a BM. cheers!
I would give it a little more time before jumping to any conclusions. Not everyone lives their life on the internet. It has only been a week. Try to keep in contact with whatever means you have, but right now it is not that serious. One of my first trades my computer crashed and had to have it completely redone. Which took a few weeks. I literally had no other way of contacting my trade partner (way before there was a tablet or a hundred other devises that got you on the internet). I think this was my second trade ever. I felt like an idiot cause the person I was trading with was kind enough to send first even though I was new. If you have already done a trade with this person, I think you have nothing to worry about. Though a few more weeks, maybe I would begin to suspect something.
Always get a cell phone number. Always. I find that some people go days and days without getting on BA, but we all check our phones every day. Doesnt help you at this point, obviously, but a good suggestion going forward. I have 4 trades going on right now, and I have a cell # for every person involved.
On top of that, write down the phone number. I had the cell number, I did not write it down cause I did not think my computer would crash. On top of that I was sent offshore on a godforsaken oil rig with no internet access. So it was about a month before I could get hold of the person I was trading with.
sadly, he never did give me a cell #. it's not so much about the trade, i'm genuinely worried since he was really quite active and a very nice guy. no bad vibes at all. he still hasn't logged in since the 7th and I've heard nothing.
