Just wondering if they are anyone's favorite style of beer. I can't say I've heard of anyone claiming it their favorite. Many seem to like IPA's and other styles as their favs, but never red (amber) ales.
For the record I don't drink many red ales. But once in awhile I really get a taste for one. I like the dryness they bring and the change of pace from the IPA's and others I usually drink.
    Some I've really enjoyed are:

    Nugget Nectar
    St. Rogue Red
    Lucky 13
    Red Rocket
    Hopback Amber

    How about you?

I am a big red ale or red lager fan. Pisgah Brewing put out a Red Lager that was pretty amazing, sadly, only seen it the one time, however, their red ale is a pretty regular brew. Thanks for the recommendations, I will look out for those as I travel about.

Red ales have always been one of my favorite styles, but never reached the top of the list. While I've had good and bad beers in almost any other style that I've never tried, I've never met a red that I didn't like.

    Ale Asylum: Ambergeddon
    Great Lakes: Conway's Irish Red
Great Lakes: Eliot Ness Amber Lager
    Lakefront: Fixed Gear
    Lakefront: Riverwest Stein

Are all reds/ambers that I enjoy frequently.

Really depends on my mood, the weather, and time of year. I love witbiers, IPAs, Marzens, and ESBs

Yeah, that beer hits all my heart strings. Hoppy, warming malts, the right amount of bitterness and ABV. Plus it's in a pint can.

Edit: I came here to mention this brew. The only downside is I cannot buy this locally.

I'm not a big red ale fan at all but that was a truly awesome beer. I got it as an extra and didn't expect much but loved it.

All right, this is just getting weird. I've mentioned in other Beer Talk posts that it seems like BA sometimes reads my mind with thread topics. This time it's just uncanny. I work at a brewery as a bartender and I had a Red IPA when I got off my shift an hour ago. On my way home, I was thinking about the GF Road Warrior Red IPA I had waiting in the fridge for me and then I had a bunch of thoughts on mass produced VS. small batch examples of the same style and how it correlates to price and quality and blah blah blah, and then boom, first thread on the BA homepage is "Anyone love reds?" GET OUT OF MY BRAIN!!!!

I really enjoy amber ales and lagers that lean to the malty side, not IPAs in disguise. While not my favorite style, they are especially excellent as a step back from getting my palate obliterated by today's ubiquitous hop bombs. I enjoy and frequently buy:
    SA Boston Lager
    Alaskan Amber
    Full Sail Amber
Negra Modelo or Dos Equis Amber (always at Mexican joints)
    NB Fat Tire

Nothing mind-blowing, just simple and good.

My apologies. Apparently Road Warrior is a rye IPA. For some reason I thought it was Hop Head Red reformulated but I was getting it mixed up with the reformulation of West Coast IPA. Damn you Green Flash for confusing me with your rebranding and reformulating!
