I really enjoy them. My favorites would be:
    Troegs Hopback Amber
    GL Nosferatu
    Bells Amber
    Stone Levitation
    Rogue Amber
Also used to like Southern Tier Big Red.

Karl Strauss's Red Trolley FTW. Smooth and balanced, but still a caramel malt bomb! Just saw some guy post the imperial version on WBAYDN, and it sounds sweet!

You're speaking my language. Their Electric Tower IPA is also one of the most delicious IPAs I have ever tasted. People need to know.

I like Scottish ales, if they count. Hoppy reds are good and all, but malty reds are where it's at, especially wee heavys.

i loved nugget nectar. i recently tried bear republic red rocket ale and was hoping it would be as good or better. but i was pretty let down. i thought it was very bland with almost no flavor of any kind.

Most of my faves have been mentioned, but for the locals, I have always loved Triumph's amber ale. That might even be my first amber.

Wonder if you got a fresh one out there in MD. Bear Republic has been going through some water shortage issues, which has affected production, and I've been seeing some old stuff on shelves, sadly. Fresh, though, I love Red Rocket. Of course, I also think most fresh BR stuff is just killer, from Hop Rod to Racer 5 to Big Bear and so on.

Absolutely. While I like the hoppy ones, I full-on love the big juicy malty ones. Everyone and their brother used to have one 10 years ago, but they aren't all that common these days. Luckily the big flagship versions are still tasty and affordable.

Absolutely, Cigar City nailed that one. Too bad it's basically only available in cans at the brewery at this point. Tocobaga has pretty much disappeared from store shelves, and they won't do growlers fills at the brewery (though you can drink as many pints at the bar as you like!).

I love this blurred line style. AleSmith Yule Smith Winter is an awesome "Imperial Red" that I don't think has been mentioned yet. I may be in the minority here, but I also loved Sierra Nevada's Flipside Red IPA. That and Nosferatu were my go-to beers for the fall last year...perfect for that time of year.

Only one I ever tried was Kona Brewing Lavaman Red Ale on tap and it was terrific! Of course, it could have been the fact that I was in Hawaii drinking it...

    Welcome to BA! Cheers!

I'd have to say Red Wheelbarrow from MBC is my favorite Red. Cascazilla from Ithaca is decent as well!

If you're in their distro area, Brewery Vivant Big Red Coq is definitely a fave of mine.
