I'm at the opposite point... where I prefer to try only new stuff, after spending a while slurping on my old favs.

Even though I've been drinking SNPA and German bocks and doppelbocks for a very long time, it was just about 3 1/2 years ago that I really started exploring craft beer.

Right now I'd say I'm at about 59% new beer and 41% familiar beer.

Can't say that I've reached that point. I've gotten to a point where I don't want to buy any more beer, which is typically when my beer fridge, pantry, coat closet and garage shelf are all full...

I kind of alternate between stretches of new beer and periods of old standbys.

Most of my recent purchases have been beers I've never tried. It's been about a year or so since I first made the transition from mass-produced beers to Craft. I'm a little late to the party, so to speak.

    Cheers!

While I am definitely not over trying new beers, it is far less often that I find something that I haven't tried yet on the shelves, but when I do find something new that I am interested in I will try it.
The bar/brewery scene is another story all together. When traveling or visiting drinking establishments, I am all about trying new most of the time.
Beings that most of my drinking is done at home, I would put the numbers at something like 70/30 regulars/new.

I reached that point in 2008 and jumped pretty hard into Single Malt Whisky... Came back around in 2014

I used to grab any new beer I saw, but now I rely heavily on this site for ratings and instagram.

That's a good question OP. Lately I've been trying new beers but I certainly have my favorites. When I buy a make your own 6 pack it's been about 66% new beers. Although some have been stinkers, but I'm open minded and like to try new stuff. Good thread.

Mostly my stand by good old trusted beers. I'm that guy that sees a lot of breweries failing because of over saturation. I do my best to keek what I like on the shelf. Other than that if you advocates say something is great I will check it out. Price is always a factor.

Yeah, I reached that point some time ago. It's rare for me to go out of my way to try something new these days unless it's something very interesting. I'd say i'm at 95% old favourites, 5% new beers.

For years I had a number of beers that I would drink very regularly and would try new things here and there (often enough, but usually only as a small portion of whatever amount I was drinking that night). Over the last year or two, I've started tearing down some walls that had previously held me back (I hate coffee, for instance, but starting with imperial/BA stouts I've slowly been trying more and more stouts, and enjoying them; I know longer rule out a beer b/c of the coffee flavor, and have found many that are amazing). I found myself getting bored buying and drinking the same rotation over and over, and have been branching out more and more. I've officially gotten to the point that it is somewhat unusual for me to purchase the beers that were once standard in my fridge in very large quantities or vary often. I usually have a standby around in case I don't like whatever new beers I'm trying that night, but venturing out has become the norm, and I'm ok with that!

While new beers always excite me, I often find myself buying old standbys. For instance, I stopped by the store tonight wanting to try a new hoppy beer but walked out with a 6 pack of Sierra Nevada Torpedo. There were a few things on the shelf I haven't had but just kinda said "whatever."
