Has anyone seen Lagunitas Daytime IPA around Seattle yet?

Heard from my rep they aren't doing it this year due to lack of hop contracts necessary (!!!) :slight_frown:

That was pretty much the story I heard. IIRC, Sumpin Wild is the next 12oz seasonal, and Gnarleywine (?!?) is the next 22oz release.

That really sucks because there aren't many beers brewed in this category.

I agree, I'm bummed. My current go-to is Boulevard Single Wide. 5.5%, bright and light (for an IPA of course). Actually created after they'd already created Double Wide, which I think benefited this session-esque IPA.

I love daytime fractional. So underrated.

I can't speak for its availability outside of Chicago, but my local Binny's just got it in today.

I got some in SoCal yesterday, however it tastes quite different than last year. The hop profile seems to have less flavor/aroma.

Well that's disappointing. Did you check the date?

Yes I did... There is a code on btl but no date.

It's a Julian code. It is the first line of digits, the second line is batch number and time. The first three numbers are the numbered day of the year and the fourth number is the last number in the year. For example 365 2 would be December 31st 2012 and 031 3 would be January 31st 2013.

Old code...so that's from the 269th day of 2012. No wonder the hops have diminished!

I knew it tasted stale but wtf are these 6 packs doing coming out at the end of summer. Daytime was cleaned off the shelf last summer here in so-cal and the place I purchased has a huge beer turnover.

I was stoked when I saw a 6pack in the cold box, as this was one of my favorites from last year. At the same time I knew the beer was on hiatus from the hop contract but rolled the dice, and got burned.

Apparantly I need to use Julian code more often... However it really isn't an often issue here as most stuff is fresh.

Yep September 25th bottling date. Ewww...unless you just didn't know your were driinking a future beer!

    ISO: future beer

FT: time-traveling tinfoil hat (holds beer)

I'm guessing this was the distributor's call to sell it, but Lagunitas shouldn't have let it happen, or they should pull the product ASAP. Not cool.
