I just had it an hour ago on tap. It was a little alcohol heavy but I was quite impressed. I was a tad scared after hearing about the 2011 batch. Just to clarify, I did not pick up any garlic or green onion at all and I thought it was quite delicious. I did not take any notes or anything, but it was delicious, and that is all that should matter. As a side note, the Linchpin White IPA is on tap, it was quite tasty as well. I would recommend picking the devil dancer up if you see it, because I know I will if I can find a bottle.

Finally tried the 2012 Devil Dancer last night. Very different from 2011. I still have A few bottles of 2011 and made a point to crack one open a few nights ago knowing I was heading to Founders. I also did not pick up any onion or garlic, but it pales in comparison to the 2012 batch. This new batch very boozy and potent, but the hop profile is different than 2011 and compliments the beer very well. I loved it.

As for the Linchpin, it's a mix of Belgian white ale (coriander, orange peel) but with a hop backbone. A great summer beer. I really enjoyed it. It's a class 2 so they should do growlers, I did not ask if they did and there was no note on the board saying they wouldn't.

Also have to give a shout out to the Ginger Pale Ale that hit the taps Wednesday. I've had ginger beers before where the ginger was on the nose and buried in the taste, but this stuff kicks it up. The aroma is hot, the flavor is hot, my god they must have used a ton of ginger. It was a bit much to drink straight up, so I took the recommendation from the bartender and mixed it half and half with Double Trouble. A great combo.

    Cheers

Linchpin was a huge disappointment. Despite being branded a "white ipa" it's essentially a saison, and not a very good one. Great Divide Collette is a better beer. I don't get why they put such a crappy beer on the shelf, I guess there's a ticker born every minute.

Despite Linchpin being Class 2, I was just turned away for a growler fill of it. Guess I'll have to actually stop in tomorrow when I have time to sit in the taproom and try it.
