Brew pubs, bottle shops, etc. Heading up there on Sunday for a week with the in-laws so I need some liquid sustenance to get me through.

Looks like there is a brewpub called Bitter Esters that might fit the bill. I haven't found any bottle shops yet.

If anyone knows of anything in the area, let me know.

    Thanks

For one, you have Sick-N-Twisted brewery in Hill City. There's also a facility in Custer, but I have no idea what that location beholds. Beers are just OK, IMHO. Names of the beers are stuff childhood giggle-fests are made of.

Miner brewing is also in Hill City, and I know even less about them. Wanted to stop when we were there in June, but just didn't have the time.

If you're driving through/past Rapid City, might be worth a stop in Smith's Liquor Gallery. Knowledgeable staff. Not really a bottle shop, but pretty decent selection of stuff we can't get in Iowa. Fill your car full of stuff from O'Dells. They also have a growler filling station if anything on tap catches your eye.

Yeah, If I can I plan to get a bunch of Odell Myrc, Avery and maybe some Dark Horse. I wish they got SKA there.

The Custer location had their Red, IPA and Porter on tap. And you are right, meh at best and when you name a beer "Creamy Wet Spot" you know what you are getting. There was a place in Custer that had their own beer on tap, brewed by Crow Peak, not too bad, about a block down on the other side of the street from the SnT place.

Grab some Pile O Dirt Porter from Crow Peak, pretty good stuff

Miner is okay, Sick-N-Twisted seems meh at best in my experience, Crow Peak in Spearfish has a few solid brews and can be purchased anywhere out there. Ale House in Rapid City has a number of taps and does to go sales.

There's a place in "downtown" Custer called The Buglin' Bull... They brew their own beers (or have someone brew for them, I'm not sure) and they're pretty solid, I quite like their brown ale and amber. I'd recommend them if you're looking for an easy drinking, well made beer. The breakfast burger is fantastic as well

We might try that Buglin' Bull place. It's right on the main drag and looked like it did decent business. The people who are letting us use their house said their burgers were legit.
