Going to Hershey with family in a few weeks and may do my own thing and hit Troegs one day. Just wondering if there's anything else really close. Be it brewpub or distributor or bottle shop worth visiting. And I mean very close. Like 10 minutes or so away.
There isn't a bunch of really close places down that way. Your best bet is going to be the Brass Rail. They are located in nearby Campbelltown. They have a deli / bottle shop... http://beeradvocate.com/beer/profile/18976/?view=beerfly&ba=orangesol And a beer distributor... http://beeradvocate.com/beer/profile/12158/?view=beerfly&ba=orangesol Both have a good selection but they can be a bit pricy so be prepared.
15 minutes. By the case and singles/drafts in the deli that's attached. http://www.brassrailbeverage.com/ 10 minutes or less ... tap list on their FB page. Decent eats too. http://www.themanorrestaurantandlounge.com/
More like 30min, even more if you hit any amount of traffic along the way, which you pretty much will.
Brass Rail in 10 mins will likely have the better taps but two decent tappies in Annville, 15 mins west on 422.

The Warwick hotel is worth a visit, IMHO. It's roughly 10 minutes from Troegs, though in the opposite direction from the Brass Rail. http://beeradvocate.com/beer/profile/21424/view=beerfly While I wouldn't generally go out of my way to visit the Warwick, if you happen to be in the area anyway and are looking for something to do (or to grab a bite), it's worth a shot. Good luck.
I second the Brass Rail and Warwick hotel suggestions. Al's is definitely worth driving out for if you have the time and a DD.
You could hit Appalchian Brewing in Harrisburg. It's a pretty cool building and the Abbey Bar on the 2nd floor usually has some good belgian beer available. Al's shouldn't be that difficult to get too, it's right off 81 on Wertzville Road.
Was only at the Wick once (two years ago), but it was fantastic. The only way you're getting to Al's from Hershey in under a half hour is with a jet pack thanks to beltway traffic. O'Reilly's is closeish (maybe 10-15 away) too.
O'Reilly's has recently undergone a Management change and from what I have been told is now a wasteland for good beer. Pretty unfortunate honestly. Now there is really no reason to go there at all.
Pretty sure it happened around the middle of July. No more live music, no more Chris running the bar.
Wow. That is really crappy to hear. I could have sworn I got one of Chris' emails recently but it must have been longer back than I remember.
