    Flying into New Orleans Saturday for vacation, staying at the Ambassador til tuesday. Wondering if any locals can give me some tips on bars/events to check out for St. Paddys day weekend. Also wondering which bottleshops I should go to within walking/cab ride distance from French quarter. Thanks in advance

    I'll be coming into town on Sunday afternoon and staying until Friday. Definitely will be hitting Avenue pub at least once. There are a few parades for St Patricks day. The one in the Irish channel is Saturday --they throw cabbage and stuff -unfortunately I'll miss it -and theres one that goes down Frenchman and Decatur streets on Monday night.
