Anything going on in Chicago tonight? (2/15)

    I don't see anything on the beergeeks calendar, but I do know there is a firkin tapping at Atlas brewing co. I am meeting a friend from out of town on Lincoln at The Barrelhouse Flat and if we choose to go anywhere else I want to take him somewhere cool. As a suburbanite I don't get down there regularly enough to pay attention to all the goings-on in the area, though I do know most of the popular spots in that area. Are there any special tappings or beers/places I should show him. We wont have much time (4 hours total, probably).

    Local Option is close by; buy a bottle of Cantillon and call it a night. EDIT--- No cantillon bottles available at Local Option :slight_frown:. Either way they usually have great stuff on tap.

    Barrelhouse Flat (2524 N Lincoln) has 4-6 bottles of Fou Foune and (as of last night) 1 bottle of Vigneronne left. Unfortunately, they do not have a packing license. Prices were reasonable - I believe $36 for the Fou Foune, not sure about the price of the Vigneronne (it was off menu).

    I like Barrelhouse flat, and Atlas is within walking distance. Same with Delilahs.

    Get the time machine ready. Last night at rock wells tap take over from GI consisting of cherry rye, coffee, baudionia, etc. special food w bcs sauces, big John ice cream, those special "rare" GI glasses (mini rocks glass) and VERY few people to compete with to get the beers!

    Probably more than I want to spend but I did notice their website said they have Abraxas on tap, which I would like to try.

    Did they run out of everything last night?

    Abraxus wasn't on last night, but that was tapped at Paddy Long's yesterday. Not sure if it's still available.
