    Hey all.
I'm no newcomer to homebrewing, but not exactly fluent and confident yet.
I'm putting together an extract NZ pale ale and would like some input on the recipe:

    6.6 lb Breiss Light LME
    1lb Caramel 20
    .5lb Carapils

    60 min Warrior 1oz
    25 min Nelson 0.5oz
    20 min Motueka 0.5oz
    10 min Nelson 0.5oz
5 min or flameout Motueka 0.5oz

This is REALLY shaved down from my initial hop bill. Trying to make sure it wont be a headache-inducing hop bomb with no balance.

Also want to get some input on possibly better timing for the additions.

Holy crap, that's like 95 IBUs! You should cut back even more. Just chopping your bittering Warrior down by half reduces IBUs to about 65 -- maybe you meant to do that but forgot? And personally, I'd save the last 4 additions of hops all for the last 5 minutes instead of 25, 20, 10, 5 -- unnecessary complexity. Put them all in at once at 5 or at flameout, and call it a day. At 5 minutes this would further reduce bitterness by an additional 20 IBUs, maybe get down to 45 IBUs which is much easier to drink for a pale ale. Unless you really like it bitter, then do what you want.

Ditch the Carapils, it's doing nothing for you.

Not a bad recipe though. It will turn out great no matter what you do to the process really. Cheers!

Yeah, I thought the full oz of warrior would be much more fitting for an IPA rather than a pale. Just needed some affirmation hah!

I will argue that your hop s hedule looks fine with the exception of the bittering c harge. I would cut that in half as well. I am a fan of stepped hop additions, I start at 30 min then go 15 min and finally at 5 or 0. Try to hit a bu gu ratio of around .75.

You could delete Warrior and use 2oz each of Motueka and Nelson from 15-0 for around 50ibu. Then dry hop. That should make a good pale ale.

I'm a 60 0 guy myself I would use a half ounce of warrior at 60 and put the rest in at 0 personally

I still want a fair bit of bite to it, so I may just do .5 of each for the last 10 or 8 so that I get a solid dose of those lovely oils in there, and the remainder at flameout. Maybe just a tad nelson for dry hop? It seems like it may be pretty fragrant without a dh

The extra 1/2 oz of warrior would be nice for dryhopping

You're gonna have so much hop flavor and aroma in there, the dry hopping would be good but maybe not even necessary.

Thanks for all the input fellas. Brewed it today and settled on the .5 Warrior, .5 of each nz hop at 10 and again at flameout. Looked and smelled promising! Now I wait...
