So here are the results of the first poll to gauge interest in a APA IPA BIF.

To convert a few of the Maybe's to Yes's timing will be important. My personal goal is to have this thing wrapped up by mid to late June, to beat vacation season and the warm weather.
That would force the latest possible ship date to be early to mid June. Brewing dates can vary widely. You can brew it now (like some plan to do) or you can brew anytime up to mid to late May to be able to catch the ship date.

I'll re-poll to recount the number of people interested based on the fixed ship date established with this poll.

This poll will be open for 48 hours.

It will already be blaring hot in much of the southern and southwest states by june. I recommend blue ice packs in addition to much insulating materials, and start the beers off COLD.

Damn, I am not sure how I missed this. I vote for May 6th, or any other date I really do not care.

I almost never open my primary until ready to rack, but made an exception for the APA IPA:

This is after 14 days of fermenting . . . just a trace of krausen and airlock activity. Gravity was 1.011, slightly below predicted FG.

Aroma is that of someone peeling a bushel of citrus in the same room. Taste is distinctly grapefruit but not overpowering. It actually tastes pretty good for a two week old beer. I'll give it one more week, then rack and dry-hop.

I dry hopped it a few days ago. It's almost ready to bottle and will probably get done on saturday.
