The heavy metal music and the biker videos are enough to drive me to drink heavily. What are the chances this list will change to something hoppier?

I agree with most of the complaints about apex, and think that "best tap list of the year" is a bit of hyperbole; but goddamnit Cantillon and FWXV alone are worth stopping in for.

Also, i would love it if they blasted anthrax/slayer/etc when I'm there. Instead, it's always shitty reggae and dub. Oh well.

 

sarcasm above... thats a GREAT tap list. Anyone who says otherwise is just pissing on Apex. I stopped by for a few, my wallet got ***** for about 24 ounces and then left - but it was delicious.

 

what bottles did they sell this year? wasn't able to make it.

 

I think I saw someone buying a Toronado 25th Anniversary bottle. I took a quick look at the to-go menu, but all the things I wanted were quite a bit more than I wanted to pay.

 

I hope the comment about "expecting more" out of that list is a joke. They typically have the best taplist in town IMO. I initially had a love/hate relationship with Apex but I like that they're their own thing. No pandering to customers. Take it or leave it. They really are the Portland Toronado, though the Apex bartenders aren't dicks like in SF, more like the vibe at the SD Toronado.

 

Stopped by to check out APEX for the first time yesterday, still had a lot of great things on, checked out the to go bottles and quickly realized why the place is so polarizing. First time I've seen Pliny for $12, Loons for $75, etc. Went across the street to Beermongers and loved the vibe and attitudes so much more there, though the taplist left much to be desired.

 

Although not complaining, i was hoping for more kegs that weren't in Oregon Distribution. I would have loved some Alpine, FFF...

 

I had a great time! Enjoyed this fine list before returning to the Fruit beer fest to use up my remaining tickets:

Great selection and the bar was moving pretty quick. A new friend from out of town bought the T25 they had for $80 and seemed really happy to have gotten it. Overall, I had an enjoyable time and had a good experience.
