Looking for some reactions to this hop. I haven't used them but have 8oz. I've heard everything from it has amazing aromatics to it taste/smells like onions so I'm not sure how best to use them (or if I even want to try them). Thanks!

Using sparingly you can get some nice grapefruit & tropical fruit flavors.

Overloading a beer with it (I used 16 oz in a 5 gallon DIPA SMaSH) you'll get everything from citrus fruit to onion, marijuana, foot, garlic and a touch cat whiz.

I've actually even noticed the flavor of this hop carrying through into the final beer (dank) when used as a FWH.

I was looking at these hops specifically for bittering since their AA% is insane. The second a hop has a known problem with funky flavors I will not use it as a late addition, not about to ruin a perfectly good hoppy beer with a bad hop flavor!

I've also used it in a SMaSH (14oz in 5gal) and would not recommend it for those purposes. There was a nice slight citrus note which was nice at first but then those flavors completely faded as time went on in the bottles. It became really dank and almost gasoline-like. However as a compliment to more fruity hops (centennial, galaxy, etc) it can be fantastic. Bottom line, use sparingly (as barfdiggs said)!

Only used it as a bittering hop...worked great.

I was ultra pissed off I could not get this in bulk from hopsdirect this year. I really like this hop.

It does exhibit different characteristics depending on how much you use, which I find interesting. The tropical fruit thing seemed to come out with modest use of Apollo.
