    guys -

I’m looking for an app or a tool which allow you to filter beer style based on features.

Ok - it sounds vague sorry.

What I mean is being able to input SRM / ABV / bitterness / etc and for the “tool” or app to tell you what style of beer fit this
So far everything is the other way around. You start from the style and get the specifics

Please let me m know if you know of any app which I could use

    Cheers

    Matt

Are you talking about an app to search style guidelines or an app to search beers by style and specifications?

The biggest problem with such as app in the second instance (IMO) is the existence of a database for the app to search.

If the former, sounds like a good project for BJCP and/or the Brewer's Association.

Long winded way of saying I know of no such app in either case.

I think crcostel found exactly what you're looking for.

Although it seems kind of weird to me to come up with a recipe and then try to match it to a style (assuming that that's what you're doing) - if I'm interested in making a specific style then I'll probably have that in mind from the start (because there's more to making a proper Helles or Tripel or Imperial Stout than just getting the OG, IBU and SRM in the right ballpark), and if not then I'll probably just come up with the recipe and describe it in generic terms as [adjective] [colour] ale or something rather than try to fit it awkwardly into an established style category.

it is more like making a sandwich - when I make beer I don't think of a style but features. Like color, body, bitterness, etc... So by filtering based on the feature I can see the profile which fit my need and then look at the different styles which would refine the rest - May be I am just a weirdo!

    Cheers guys and thanks

Not really the sort helpful answer you want, but I don’t really see much utility for that app, if it exists. Beer style is more than the sum of its quantifiable components. Or else it is nothing at all.
