I've had Hardywood Trickery and Prairie Apple Brandy Noir and thought they were both phenomenal so I'm on the lookout for similar beers. I was just curious what other Apple Brandy Barrel beers people have had and what they thought of them.

    J. W. Lees Harvest Ale (Calvados Cask).

Definitely my all time favorite among the J.W. Lees Barleywines and probably the only one I'd go looking for.

Loved it for its complexity and its slightly tart fruity flavor.

Ah I had forgotten about that one but I agree it has been my favorite of the barrel aged J.W. Lees Barleywines

I've had the JW Lee's Calvados and Beer Geek Brunch Weasel Calvados. Both I though were really good beers, and the brandy really added a nice depth of flavor that wasn't too hot and didn't detract from the beer flavors (in favor of barrel flavors).

Love both of those. And seconding @telema1 for Apple Brandy Barrel Westbrook's Black Magic Panther. Had that on tap.

Apple Brandy BQE from Finback is phenomenal. Almost two years ago I chanced upon a few bottles of the smuttlabs stout aged in two Brandy barrels for five years, one of the smoothest yet flavorful barrel aged stouts I've ever had.

Not sure about apple, I would definitely like to try it, but having tonight a J. W. Lees Harvest Ale (Port Cask) 2014. Many moons ago I had a 2006 in 2009 of the Harvest Ale (Calvados Cask) also a very tasty brew, wish it was available when I bought this Port Cask.

    Cheers!

I might try soaking some Jack Daniel's barrel chips in apple brandy, then French pressing them with Ten Fidy. What could possibly go wrong?
