Staying in Appleton, near the Fox River Mall, on our way further north in a few weeks. Looks like there is a Woodmans across the street. Any other bottle shops worth hitting?

Any good eating establishments with a good craft lineup? Any good places to eat with good location (on the water, etc)? Outdoor patio? Can i get all this in one place?

Was hoping to stop by CW but it looks like their hours are extremely limited. Is their website correct? Just wanted to get some brewriana and maybe a brew but that looks to be out of the question.

Thanks for the help lads and laddies. Cheers!

I live in Appleton and here's what I would suggest based on what I've seen (and suggestions from another BA).
    Stores/shops
    • Woodman's has good selection. There are 2 Festival Foods grocery stores in the area that have decent selection.
    • Going east on College Ave, there is Flanagan's Stop and Shop that has a decent selection as well.
    • Club Liquor is actually a close drive in Menasha.
    • Neimuth's Southside Market on Oneida St
    • Cork's and Caps in Greenville
    • If you are going through DePere/Green Bay, hit up The Wine Cellar in DePere and Ridgeview Liquor in Green Bay

    Eating places/bars to check out
    • Pullman's Trolley Square (on the water and good food)
    • Dr Jeckyl's (bar - great selection of bottles and decent tap)
    • Appleton Beer Factory (I will know more on Friday after I get there to experience their brews and food
    • Stone Cellar (has great food, their brews are good, but not amazing in my experiences there)
    • College Avenue has a ton of bars with outdoor patios but I haven't seen the best craft lineups there.
I know I'm forgetting a bunch, but I'll add as I think of them.

i'd recommend a beermail to cduboriginal or post a message on Central Waters' facebook page. they may have odd hours for the tap room but it's also a functioning brewery so someone is always there.

The woodmans in Appleton has a good selection but perhaps the least interesting of all of the woodmans I've been to in Wisconsin, just my opinion. Can't say much about the rest of Appleton but heading to Green Bay and stopping at Ridgeview is definitely worth it in my opinion, and Wine Cellars in De Pere sometimes has some decent finds that have been sold out at other stores for a while, and it's only 10ish minutes from Ridgeview.

Gather Americana is a cool new restaurant near the mall with a solid tap list. Also right over there is a brand new Milwaukee Burger Co with something like 40+ taps. Bad Badger downtown on College Ave. has an above average tap list as well.

Fox River House on Walnut has small but solid taps and a good bottle list.

While its not technically north of Appleton, Gardina's in Oshkosh has some great stuff.
